I only don't have pictures because unfortunately we demolished the food too fast to stop and snap any. My only real complaint is that it was a very pick up and go location, with no seating (which we weren't aware of until we got there) but honestly, for the quality of the food I don't care. I would have eaten it in the parking lot sitting on the curb and had a better experience then I've had at many of the other dine in places I've been to.
I got the Greek pizza, and my fiance got the beef shawarma on the fluffy samoon bread. We also got fried pickles and jalapeño poppers. the pizza was truly delicious. The owner told us it was truly new York style dough and as a New York native I will say it did not disappoint. It was well seasoned, and had generous toppings, the gyro meat was flavorful and wonderful and honestly who doesn't love feta cheese? My fiance absolutely ADORED the beef shawarma and considered it one of the best sandwiches he's had in a long time. He said every was absolutely delicious and perfectly done, no notes. he said the jalapeño poppers were definitely in his top three best jalapeño poppers he's had, he said to him, what makes a good popper is how well the crust/batter actually coats and sticks to the popper and that these succeeded in that department. I don't like jalapeño poppers so I can't comment first hand lol. The friend pickles were absolutely lovely, we had a slightly longer ride home so unfortunately they had lost their crunch but that is no fault of the food itself. It was the right amount of salty and dill with a wonderful little hint of heat.
My final thoughts: I truly believe that you can tell when food is crafted with love, and with a passion for the art and when it's not. The pride in which a chef takes in his recipes and the product there of is integral to the experience. The owner was humble, good humored and helpful. He said we'd be able to taste the effort they put in and he did not lie. I consider myself a foodie and my fiance is a chef, so we eat out a lot and I can easily say this was top five for us. If you're wanting to try some of the best shawarma upstate south Carolina has to offer, and you want to eat food that truly is made with love, this is the place to go. My fiance is talking about going again tomorrow if that gives an indication of how much we enjoyed it. Hopefully we will have pictures to add next time so you can see how lovely...
Read moreMan is this pizza good! First time showing up and dang is it good. Ordered a cheese, pepperoni, and a beef shrama and it was great.
I don't know what they are doing with their cheese but is stupid good. The bread is really nice, almost like a gyro type bread.
Edit: ordered 4 times. Last time I got incorrect pizzas. Both were way off. Like.. no clue how it was so wrong. I did order online
I have noticed inconsistency on pizza cooks. Some cooked really well others definitely over cooked. I have concerns about longevity of this place.
Edit 2: did talk with Mo there they are gonna hook up since the bad order to fix the issue with last order. Order the supreme pizza today and a cheese for the kids. Supreme is excellent. Cooks were good again. So consistency of the cook have been when I ordered or growing pains not sure.
Still much better pizza than the fast food...
Read moreI just had a super delicious pizza from The Crispy Crust, and yes, the crust is crispy. We (2 people) shared a small supreme and a small carnivore and have slices left for tomorrow. The piled high ingredients are so fresh that you’d think there’s a garden and farm right in the middle of Mauldin. What stood out to me the most was….. The Meatballs! I bit into that thick and juicy meatball and I couldn’t get over the explosion of flavor bursting forth. It must be an exceptional oregano they use because they way the flavors intermingle together makes a marvelous dinner. This is my third visit to The Crispy Crust and every meal has been stupendous so I will definitely go back again and again. BTW-The owner (didn’t catch his name) and the rest of the staff go above and...
