Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Mauston

Sorry, but my thoughts are this restaurant has gone downhill in the past 4 or 5 years. Used to have one of the best country fried steaks in the area but not no more. Steak under the breading was very fatty and did not have a great flavor. Breading was ok but also lacked flavor. My wife’s beef hash was basically their fried potatoes with 1/8 cup or less of beef thrown on top.

Service was nothing to write home about. All I can say is we were served.

I was impressed by the variety of the menu! My husband and I ate here while traveling through and we were very pleasantly surprised. I would honestly give the food 10 stars. I had the chicken salad sandwich with fries and my husband had steak and eggs sunny side up with toast. Every single bite was so enjoyable.
