So many times we have passed here and never stopped.. that ends today!! We came in for breakfast and holy cow! My husband and I both ordered 12 oz ribeye with hashbrowns, eggs, and we got a biscuit with sausage gravy to dip. Now I always order my steak medium rare and rarely is it done right. I am happy to say that today, it was spot on! The seasoning was perfect, the cook was perfect, it was so juicy and flavorful. The hashbrowns werent over done, the eggs were phenomenal. Now I'm gonna brag on that biscuit and gravy. This is a scratch kitchen BTW and they have it going on! That biscuit was so buttery and dense, yet light and flakey. The gravy was definitely one of the top 3 in the country that I've had. It was creamy and thick but not salty. There was a perfect amount of sausage in it. Guys, I honestly can't say enough good about this place. Everyone was super friendly, the service was out of this world. If you are ever in Wisconsin on I-90, this is a must stop! Oh! They also have a cheese store attached!! Go get you some cheese while you're there! It is so good and they have samples 😁

Stopped on the way home to MN. Had their special - beef tips with mash potatoes and dinner roll, chicken dumpling soup . It was ok, needed salt and pepper . The soup was strong on the concentrate broth which made it salty. The roll with butter came heated warm- looked amazing but dense ( I like my dinner rolls highly rises and airy which these are not) . My daughter had the eggs Benedict with hash browns- was OK- needed more flavor/ salt pepper. My mom had a bowl of potato soup and ordered a side dinner roll. Did not come with butter and she had a corner piece that appeared to be dry. The service was friendly, took our order in a timely fashion and the food camp out warm and quickly. Food was reasonably priced for what you got. Love the cabin feel inside.

We stopped in on 7/25/24 for a pit stop on the way to La Crosse. Our server was great, very sweet. I ordered the hungry man breakfast. I'm picky with how I like my eggs (over hard, yolk broken) and they got it right, it's amazing how many don't. It was a lot if food, I was able to share some of it. My husband ordered the chicken Philly, he said it was ok. And our son got chicken tenders and cheese curds. He said the chicken was ok. He liked the cheese curds. The bathrooms were clean. The building is attached to the Carr Valley Cheese, bathrooms between the 2. I would stop back in again if we were to take this route again.

The worst $24 you could spend on a Prime Rib dinner! Started with a very unclean booth and disgusting floor, with several other messy tables. There were 3 waitresses and only one other table of customers. It was not busy for at least the two hours prior to this either. I then got a salad that had a clearly visible rotting piece of lettuce on the very top, and it was followed up rather quickly with a cold and extremely fatty Prime Rib, canned green beans, and large stale bun. I spent the next 15 mins cutting the 1/4 meat off the fat and later took it to the in-laws to pan fry with seasoning and it was then edible. My wife's $11 tips and gravy was hot, average at best, but edible. My daughter ate her fries but did not like the taste of her chicken strips, which held a bad oil flavor. I also overheard the customer next to us tell the waitress "it's OK sweetie, it's not your fault, it just isn't edible." I was never asked how our meal was, just given a check to pay. At the counter, I waited another 15 mins while an older couple picked out desert from a large display that was filthy and looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in the 15 years since the last time I probably ate there. Again, I wasn't asked about my meal or anything, I simply paid with a modest tip and left. The service was fast, and the waitress seemed friendly, but new and inexperienced and I don't blame her. I...

So I came into the family restaurant in Mauston, WI. I ordered the pork chop meal. It was 15.00. When I received the meal it was missing an item and the pork chop was partial raw. I asked for a salad, it was straight lettuce. No cheese, nothing but a chunk of tomato. I asked her about the salad and she stated that’s how they do their salad there. A bowl full of lettuce. That is not a salad. So that’s false advertising first hand. Then I asked her before ordering it that if everything that came with the Sunday dinner came with that meal and she said yes. When I asked her on the phone why she told me that she stated to me that she miss understood me and that it didn’t come with her. She then stated I could come back and get a full refund for the meal since the whole meal other then the potatoes was wrong or not done right. I went in the next day to get a refund and a very nice young lady stated to me that there was a note that I was to be refunded 6.00 for a 15.00 dollar meal including the 3 dollar tip. This restaurant should fire this lady or demote her because she doesn’t know how to do her job. The food was very bad. If I could give this restaurant no stars I definitely. I will make sure a lot of people in this area knows about this because...

Think twice before eating here. While traveling we wanted a family friendly resturant. The log cabin atmosphere was nice, but when sat in the booth the seat sunk in from broken springs. The smell of mold was also present. There were food stains on the back of the cloth booth and when I got up to use the bathroom, I had sat on sticky syrup from the prior customer that was now on my pant leg. Now let's talk about the waitress who tried to use gen Z humor, but came across as cocky. She had limited knowledge of the menu. After ordering what I asked for, due to my special diet and told her I couldn't eat certain items she did the exact opposite and numerous food items were wasted. When asked where my husbands side was with his burger, she said customer only gets it if they ask for it. Wait, what?? The burger was overcooked and my daughters fries were undercooked In my opinion they need to retrain this waitress, cooks and get a cleaning crew in there. Upon paying the bill we were charged extra at the register for using our debit card. I understand if a major credit card was used, but not a bank card. Never heard of this. We will never stop here again, should have...
