Puebla Crepas & Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Mayagüez

Having lived in California for close to 30 years, I have an in first-hand knowledge of the Mexican cuisine. We lived and shared many cultural elements (traditions and cuisine among others) of Mexico and it's people. Long story short, I have first hand appreciation of what good Mexican food is and this place has lots of room for improving it's foods flavor. What I have noticed is that different cultural foods made here on the island are kind of made to appeal to the locals who many have not really had traditional food flavorings of other cultures cuisine. And it is not only in regards to Mexican food but also others, such as Chinese. If the foods are made to appeal to the locals then their chances of the business being successful is greater. I always past by and finally had the opportunity to try it. Ordered the chicken burrito and a tamarindo Jarito. This is basically a food truck that has good food, they have a food bar on the inside and they ask what you like and start putting it in your burrito. Some items seem to be extra and has a additional cost, I added the spinach tortilla and some corn on mine.

The salad bar definitely has fresh salad and the kitchen looks very clean. After eating my burrito it was good but was missing some flavor not sure exactly but I lived in Mexico and know my Mexican food and for me it was missing some flavor but I’m sure for most you may fine it completely fine.

The reason I gave it 4 star was that it has outside seating and the temperature when I was there was 96 plus the humidity it was kind of uncomfortable so ate fast :)

After visiting my nephew at Universidad de Puerto Rico - Mayagüez (University of Mayagüez) my daughter mentioned she was getting hungry so we made a stop so she could get something (my wife and I did not eat). This is a fast food restaurant off of highway 2 near the Mayagüez Mall along with other restaurants of your choice. This restaurant only has outdoor sitting (which is common) but was very clean and plenty of trash bins and recycle bins available. She is vegetarian so she picked the "Two Tacos Vegetarianos" which she said was really good but the taco sauce could have been a little more spicier!
