i am a senior adult me and 3 other seniors ate at this establishment on 6/22/24 2 of us ordered soup and salad thinking the charge would be 6.49 however when the bill came it was dbl that i asked why i was told i should have read the menu however i ask what the soup choices were and was told to the best of my recollection i certainly not clarified you had to have the soup of the day so my sister and i order potato soup had i known i had to have that other soup i definately would have ordered something different i didn't like the soup but it was the first time i have ever had it it was luke warm at best . when the check came i asked why price so high at this point i was told this was my error due to not reading the menu i ask you would it not have been more beneficial for her to ask which of the 2 i wanted for clairification since i didn't comprehend when i ask at the station of waiteresnes i had 6-8 persons making me feel like a fool my other sister stopped this questions and told all of us were acting so not professional i do not want any compensation that is not my intent i just would have liked her to have given me about 30 seconds to ask me which did i want i do not live in this area and when i come back to visit i will not return to this place of business i have a 92 year old friend and i take her out occasionally and the young persons never gives a tinker damn about older persons physical capabilities how sad and instead of seating reasonably close to a table or taking the shortest route to said table they take her around the world via china when it could have been so much easier i understand many businesses are closing due to higher pricing people cannot afford and it amazes my how the lack of caring by these with jobs do not understand just how fortunate they are to have a job yes customers can be really bad but not all a little goes a long way sherry i hope...
Read moreMy first two visits were great. My third visit, yesterday, was totally unsatisfactory.
The first impression of our server was that she’s either having a bad day or really hates her job.
I ordered the special, which was the Tortelloni. A few bites in, I found a black hair. It was over an inch long. I alerted our server. She took my knife and began digging around on my plate. She then corrected me and told me that it was a piece of Parmesan cheese. This was terribly insulting and poor judgement on her part. I know the difference between a black hair and Parmesan cheese. I told her to take the plate away. I declined ordering a replacement. A: One often loses their appetite when one finds a hair in their food. B: Honesty, I was quite angry that she wanted to dispute a black hair in my food! When the bill arrived, there was a charge for Soup of the Day. I questioned this since no one at the table had ordered soup. She stated that she had to charge me for the salad. The salad that was included with my meal, that I could not eat because of a black hair. That was also rather insulting and poor customer service. Adagio is considered a “nice” restaurant in Mayfield. Over the years, any time that I’ve ever had to send food back at a “nice” restaurant, a member of management always comes out to offer an apology and asks how to make it right. This did not happen yesterday. The customer service needs improvement at Adagio. I hope that this review is read by the owner/management. You have opportunity for growth in customer service. Nice, sit-down restaurants historically struggle to stay in business in Mayfield. You have a great location, nice atmosphere and a great menu. Please don’t allow poor service to destroy...
Read moreThis place has gone extremely downhill since they have opened. First off, the servers, hosts and managers used to dress professionally. Now, they come to work looking like they just rolled out of bed with sweat pants and crocs on. The service was absolutely terrible. Drinks were not refilled until we deliberately asked. The server brought out our bread in the middle of our meal and stacked two cups full of garlic butter on top of each other, making the dishes and table filthy and greasy. They were out of 5 different main entrees, which was not mentioned by the server until we were trying to order something that was not available. Then, to make matters worse…we wanted to split the bill and pay half with cash and half with card. The server charged our card the full amount and then that’s when the lovely Lydia came in. Lydia is quite the ray of sunshine and I say that in the most sarcastic voice you can possibly think of. She is actually very rude and unprofessional and should not be in charge of customer service. I told her I would be writing this review and speaking to her manager and she said “go right ahead” instead of offering any type of incentive to make the poor service any better. She refunded our card for the first mistake the server made. I, then, just told her to charge my card the full amount since the task I asked for was just too complicated for them to handle. Lydia took about 30 minutes to actually charge my card for the second time and was very disrespectful while doing so. I will not be returning to Adagio’s and if you’re reading this, I advise you to save your time and money and go elsewhere because I promise you will be...
