So disappointed- the only Aladdin’s we won’t feel comfortable ever returning to- all due to the unfortunate arrogance and unprofessionalism of the manager- Rob. For some reason, he was unwilling to handle a very simple situation with a new and extremely kind waitress—over some slight confusion she had regarding the size of hummus plate we requested for our small family of 3. We ended up being served 2 different sizes and kindly mentioned it to our kind waitress. She went to ask the banshee what to do and it was evident she was extremely uncomfortable over- what should have been a simple resolution. We then heard him speaking right near us, directly in front of us—about how we would have to deal with it. We heard words like rediculous. We couldn’t understand.
The waitress came back ( we had not touched the other small bowl of hummus) and she said just keep it there because we will throw it away anyway— she said I’m going to pay for it). We felt so terrible and said no no. She expressed that she was sorry and that the whole thing was just so uncomfortable and that she been feeling that way since starting there.
The lunch began so harmoniously and we were looking so forward to our time there, unfortunately this put a damper on the entire occasion. As professionals, diligent workers with integrity, respect for others and a keen work ethic, my family and I found this to be so inappropriate and disrespectful.
This man the manager, Rob had no discomfort whatsoever with speaking disrespectfully about customers who were right in front of him, and...who had done nothing wrong. He made something of a big scene over a small bowl of hummus. He clearly seemed to want to make sure we heard him. A very bad way to handle business and destroy a family’s opportunity to share a little time together. The GM was there and never showed up to give us assurance either. A very hostile seeming and artificial feeling...
Read moreIt's a chain now. There is no feeling. I am a 2003 era customer who grew up going to the Cedar Fairmount location. I have even been to the one in Arlington, VA and felt more hospitality Mediterranean or otherwise. Bread- it's not meant to run out that's ME culture 101. Charge me if you have to, but if I have to ask for more bread and you still can't bring it because "this pita IS for the whole table" we have a problem. Request- if you have the pita and the chicken salad (you forgot alfalfa sprouts) and I ask you to please just recreate the menu item you used to carry by literally just opening the pita and stuffing it in there, please just do it. And charge me if you have to. But if I say bring me the whole pita circle and I'll do it at the table myself, and you still don't bring pita, then we have a problem. Feta- it is crumbles people not processed shreds seriously. Guest- my guest was from West coast and is ethnically Arab. He found the service and ambiance disrespectful to his culture. I was embarrassed. Music and menu- if you have to play Christmas music in October why not play Lebanese or whatever ME Christmas music you like? Something that actual Ala'addin would recognize. And if you ask me if I want dessert, why don't you have dessert menus so I know if there is anything on it I want? Or train your staff to know the desserts. Then train them again. There can't be this many problems with a place and it not be a top-down issue. I will close with one positive thing because I believe in the model- the flavor was just as wonderful and texture too as always with the food. Well done on the recipes as always. Please bring the rest of the ship back to your former glory, Management and Owners....
Read moreI’ve been ordering take out from this Aladdin’s location for many years (and they’ve never forgotten anything and it’s always SO good) but yesterday we decided to venture to eat on a dreary Sunday and we’re greeted by their manager (who was dealing with multiple things at once) yet still managed to greet us and seat us. There was a pristine section of 4 tables in a more private area and the manager took note that my toddler is somewhat of a roamer and really kindly gave us that entire section. I have an autistic toddler so we have been out to eat just a handful of times because sometimes you don’t know what to expect, adults aren’t very patient and understanding, and sometimes emotional exhaustion ensues and you have to cut your meal short. We didn’t have to experience any of that at Aladdin’s 🥹 I can’t say enough good things about our server Charlie. He so graciously let my Nico play (and take up) all 4 tables in his section, didn’t blink an eye when Nico collected all of the silverware to play with, and was completely unbothered by my teenager who ordered something every time he came back around lol he was ON TOP OF IT. We never waited for a water refill or a side of something and he was such a humble, kind, genuine and patient server with my toddler, teenager and two adults. Our food was superb (every single thing we ordered) and even my toddler sat down and ate all of his food with us (a rarity). We now have a place where we can have a meal and take a break from everything, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Amazing staff, perfect food, superb service and really peaceful energy. Thank you guys!! 🥹
