Buck's Grill — Restaurant in Maysville

Positives: the venue itself was great. Well decorated with a western saloon theme, extremely clean with a friendly staff. Portions were fine (we went at lunch).

Negatives: no one goes to a restaurant simply for the atmosphere, and that is certainly the case for a smokehouse.

Quite possibly the worst meat I have ever had. I had the #2 which was brisket and pulled pork. This was not brisket. This was pot roast. And there was no smoke or bark. 0. Likely fixed in a crock pot. The pulled pork was the same. Taste wise, there was nothing there for either. The pork could have been redeemed with a decent sauce. But, to call what I was served brisket would be akin to serving a sausage patty dressed as a Big Mac and saying “Here’s your Big Mac.”

Benefit of the doubt: maybe it was an off day. But, it was a Saturday. Prime time restaurant day. I have no idea how their other menu items taste, burgers etc. they may be fine. But, if you’re strictly going to Buck’s for some good BBQ/brisket then you’re going to be mad.

I understand that it is called Bucks Grill and is not marketed as a strict smokehouse, but the menu is smokehouse heavy which is confusing.

Last word: awesome venue and atmosphere, terrible...

I promised that I would get pictures but they swarmed in way too fast!!! Buck's grill is very delicious and I promise as long as we work in Maysville, this will be our catering place.

I work with a travelling construction company and everytime we finish a big task before the allotted time the superintendent shows his gratitude by serving lunch. A week ago, I called around to all of the BBQ places in this area and in Ohio and out of all the places I called for quotes, Mrs. Buck's was the only one who catered to the needs of my employees. She was extremely friendly with absolute hospitality and even Mr. Buck's went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They took the time to place my order and figure out the cost for everything instead of sending me to a website to figure it out myself and the food was beyond amazing. I thank everyone who had a hand in helping us show our gratitude to these hard working employees it meant alot to us all and we appreciate quality of service we received!

Today is my birthday and we decided to give this place a try. I specifically asked the female manager at the time about the three meat platter. I told her I was very hungry. She said absolutely a lot of food. What I got was literally half a scoop of BBQ, two little pieces of brisket, and TWO ribs. The BBQ WAS DRY, brisket was tasteless, and the two ribs were dry and tough! Now this same lady my wife and I explained to her that this resturant used to be a flower shop and could we see the changes. She said yes and to go around back. We go around back and open the door. This same lady then yelled at us saying we aren’t allowed to come in here! VERY EMBARRASSING!! How did she not understand the question and asked us to go around back? The sauce is juice drippings and NOT sauce at all. Just an awe full all around experience and we won’t be coming back. Really a cute setting but run...
