'76 Bar and Kitchen — Restaurant in McAllen

Stopped by in January when I was in the area, and ended up there several times, ordering something different.

Let's start with food. There are a lot of burgers on the menu, so there's one for every appetite. I had a cheeseburger. These are hearty burgers and grilled to perfection. The bread is nice and toasted, and the patty is well-seasoned. The next time I went, I had a Philly cheesesteak. The perfectly grilled onions and peppers, steak and bread all work really well together. I also tried the wings, and believe it when I write that they are some of the best wings I have tried. Crispy, tasty, and you get to choose which sauce you want. The Texas Nachos are also big enough to share and loaded with, well....everything. The house chips are also an added surprise to entrees. They aren't just "the side", they can stand alone as a snack with a cold beer.

Which leads me to the drinks: There is an amazing selection of beers, cocktails and wine. The draft beers are probably the coldest in the valley and feature a selection from local breweries. The cocktails go beyond the rum and coke. The smoked old fashioned is visually impressive, fragrant and beautifully balanced. Their Blue Hawaiian, margaritas and specialty shots are available for those who are a little adventurous.

The service has always been on point for me. The wait staff have always been friendly and happily answer questions about the menu and offer recommendations. This definitely added to the welcoming vibe 76 has created.

Check this place out! There are always drink specials, Shrimp Mania Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, Wing Wednesdays, Unlimited Wings Saturday not to mention live music, special events and an awesome DJ. This place has something...

I don't have pictures...i was kinda dissapointed in the initial service i just left after just 1 drink. I went there after seeing my sis in law post about being there and it looked awesome!! Took the wife...ordered our 1st drink.. The place is gorgeous and ample room for a good size crowd ... Watching sports over suds and food is a passion of ours. So we explore different eateries to see first hand what the fuzz is about..or IS NOT! The server never came back for more drinks... or food We observed the people in the next table suffering same bad service with a different server. From my observation...the place is not properly supervised or scrutinized by any managers...rendering servers just getting a paycheck and not really earning it. I love to see businesses flourish in my McAllen town. Thats why I post this review. I'll give an example...Buffalo wings rings n things in South is a Superbly run business..i see it first hand..and although it has massive amounts of customers...their service is tops. Fast..and food is on point or better for the price point....Go further north same franchise(buff wings rings n things) and the place is desolate..u get the eary feeling as u walk in that the staff just doesn't care...and thats why the place looked doomed for closure. Same businesses..different management... Makes all the difference. So 76 bar...if you go in and get good service you have won. Because the ambience is really great...Food i didn't get a chance to sample as mentioned... Its a 3 for me... Hope that helps..and hope they improve their service or it will surely...

The management and owner of this location are so disrespectful to their employees I am appalled that they even return back to work. I would rate this place with zero stars but Google forces you to give a location a star even when they do not deserve it. The food is mediocre and the place is unsanitary. I would not recommend this bar to anyone unless you want to be treated with disrespect and walk around watching the owner with a messed up eye talk down to his employees. This location is in a good spot because of the bars and restaurants around it so its nice to be able to ditch 76 and walk somewhere else. Im sure this is going to be one of the few locations in the valley allowing 100% capacity since this is what they have been doing the entire time ever since COVID-19 hit the RGV. ::To the owner(s) of the bar:: perhaps you should act like a better role models and not walk around so entitled and you wouldn't have so many reviews similar to mine. I assure you I wouldn't waste another dollar or my energy in this establishment ever again. This is not slander this is the truth do not try to attack a local thinking you will get this comment removed. I am speaking from experience and look forward to hearing from your attorney over a legitimate Google review. As of now, I have your attention and you and your employees need a reality check.
