Gloria Jean's Coffees — Restaurant in McAllen

I visited the Gloria Jean’s Coffees location at Bicentennial in McAllen, Texas today, arriving at 8:57 pm. I ordered several Frappuccinos and requested three hot coffees, but was told by the staff that they were no longer serving hot drinks. I was confused, as their closing time is 10:00 pm, so I asked why they couldn’t make hot drinks at 9:00 pm. The staff member informed me that this was their daily practice, which I found quite disappointing.

The café had no other customers at the time, and it appeared that the three young employees were more focused on cleaning and closing up early than serving customers. It was frustrating to experience this level of service, especially when there was still an hour left...

Checked on Google to see what time they closed because the last time I went it was 8 pm and the front door was locked. Went tonight about 5 mins before 8 pm and the door was locked again but someone came to the front and told us that they were still open but through drive thru only. Got in my car and when through drive thru only to be told that they did not have brewed coffee. This is an hour before closing time. Drove 15 mins to their location on Ware Rd and once again they were not serving regular coffee because their machine was already clean and they did not want to make me one. Dropped in for my first visit at this coffee shop on my way to work (very convenient). Walked in and was immediately greeted — after reviewing the menu I placed my order. Understandably so, waited for my order but it didn’t take long. My drink was made just how I wanted. Great coffee and most importantly great friendly service! My advice, don’t bother with past reviews bc I could have missed out on some great tasting coffee. These days ppl don’t have patience and give poor reviews bc they’re slightly inconvenienced.
