Wife & I took a road trip through South Texas just to explore. Made it to the city of McAllen a bit hungry. No idea where to go. Google search began. List comes up. The heck with the reviews we decide. Just close eyes & point to one…. Now to the service & food. Service was quick & attentive & not overbearing 👍 Chips & Salsa first to the table. Chips a bit over fried but good. The 2 salsas were very very good! One had a nice smoky taste. The rice & Charo beans very very good!! Fajitas, enchiladas, guacamole and everything else all made for a Great meal & find. Will be back kinda place. Koko’s cafe ! If you live in the city & have not been aware of this little Gem. Go check it out. Passersby! Well for us 2. Wife & I.. when back in the area will definitely stop there again. AND reasonably priced! Thumbs up from...
Read moreThis place is decorated really nicely inside, the food was okay, i ordered the huevos rancheros.
For 5.95 you get 2 eggs, potatoes and refried beans (the bacon was extra 2.95). The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, the salsa for the eggs was good, the refried beans were warm but didn't have any special taste to it but it was okay, the potatoes were soggy but warm, nothing special to say about them, the bacon was thin and crispy it was actually good but it was an extra.
The tortillas were okay, the flour was much better than the corn, both are made in the restaurant.
The my first cup of coffee was semi warm but the second one was Hot.
The servers were okay, they were really busy.
Overall a decent place to have breakfast at a...

Chairs were comfortable and they had 5 large tables for groups from 4 to 6 people. I had the Deluxe Mexican plate which was ample food and gave you a good variety, enchiladas, crispy tacos, totasda and beans/rice. Only downside was the tortilla chips tasted like they were overcooked in oil. Service was very prompt. I would definitely eat here again when I'm...
