La Cocinita at Mercado District — Restaurant in McAllen

Stop here tonight. New place. The atmosphere was very nice. They had nice music playing in the background that gave the while place a nice ambiance. I ordered the smoked pork belly tacos. They were by far the best food I've ever tried. They were simply delicious! I sneezed some lime and their mild hot sauce on them. 🔥 My wife had the birds taco and she enjoyed them as well. The service was fantastic and prompt and super friendly. Before our order came out, they brought us Fidel suop(very good) and instead of the traditional tortilla chips, they brought out chicharones which we sneezed lime on they and dipped then in their green house sauce. My bf and I were in McAllen visiting his extended family and found La Cocinita while browsing Mercado District. The meal we had here ended up being one of the best we had while in town! We tried the birria tacos with consume and some of the beef fajitas. Both were flavorful (great job on the meat marinade!), and the beef fajita was juicy and tender. Hands down one of the best taco place that I have tried in the Valley so far! We ordered the octopus taco and pork belly taco! I have been looking for the deep fried shrimp taco for so long but none of the places I have tried in the Valley has it! They even let me try it and we fell in love with love rightaway!
