(updated review) So we finally got a chance to try out this place... you'll experience both sides with this place, great and bad. First off, we had about a 30 min wait (2 people), but it was on a Sat night so we'll let that one slide. But it was a bad start once seated..not sure how they assign servers...but my wife and I were seated, and then 2 other tables were seated next to us. But even though they were seated after us, their servers came to take their orders before us and were brought their chips and salsa before we were even attended. We had to tell the lady who seats everyone TWICE, that where was our waiter. The waiter eventually showed up...we made sure to order everything all at once because the place was full... not to mention the 2 tables that came in after us had also placed their orders before us. We ordered shrimp cocktails, my wife had the ribeye w/ shrimp, and I had the rollos de marisco (rolled tilapia stuffed with crab, shrimp, etc). I also ordered a Dos XX Clamato and my wife a virgin piña colada. Oh yeah...the place says they're known for their micheladas but we weren't given the drink menu...I had to ask the waiter for one ...so it took about 20 min before I was able to order one. So the food on its own...was delicious, but not perfect. The chips and salsa were good...but I think they pair the spicy mayo they use for their sushi with it...that does not go with chips. The shrimp cocktails...amazing. The shrimps were large...they tasted fresh..and were a great start. BUT the hot sauces they bring out...they don't complement them too well. They needed the classics like Cholula or Tapatío....not Tabasco or Valentina. Still a good start...my wife loved her rib eye w/ the shrimp. She asked for some tortillas to go with it...by the time they arrived she was almost done...and the flour tortilla was still halfway raw. The avocado on her plate was the best! Tasted fresh...great flavor..along with her fries. Again...great food...but big flaws in them. Her piña colada was perfect.... nothing to change there. I had the rollos de marisco.... honestly by then I was nearly full (shrimp cocktail and the chips)...but it was delicious. The crema made the dish...the tilapia was cooked just perfect...it literally fell apart. Just a suspicion though...to me they use imitation crab for that dish...not real crab. Still delicious. But on to their michelada...it took maybe 30 min to get it? They only have 1 person making them..and when we went it was packed...so maybe if you go during the day you'll get it quicker? I don't know...but if you want to drink...don't get the michelada. Order yourself a beer first, maybe 2...while you wait on the michelada. Plus they had no draft...so I settled on Dos XX bottle. BUT...the Michelada was delicious! Perfect spice... Right amount of mix... highly recommend them. But order yourself a beer beforehand. BUT...as I said, things are almost perfect...my Clamato came with shrimp... But one of the shrimp still had it's vein in it...so didn't eat it. You can even see it in the picture.... So overall...all over the place. Amazing shrimp cocktail, delicious ribeye...some of the best micheladas... however slow service, complements that miss the mark, and a 30 min wait for a michelada when you say that is what you're known for? I'll ask the Magic 8 ball next time if we should go... :---------------------- This one star is simply because they have ZERO care for covid-19 guidelines. I took my wife yesterday for Valentine's...or at least planned on it. We entered and it was wall to wall...packed. I'm assuming the food might be good...I wanted to try one their micheladas...but we walked right out. I understand people want to make their money...but at least have some care. Families seated right next to other tables....zero masks all around...no thanks.

For the freshest seafood, La Laguna Mariscos & Sushi brings it home! Craving an evening out with friends, we came out to try this place out. Being at a table for 6, we were seated promptly and immediately greeted with house made chips with multiples salsas...I washed those down with an ice cold Bohemia beer, and yes...there is a full bar! Not long after my party arrived, the house band(I could not believe they have a house band) performed a variety of hits ranging from classics from The Eagles to Tejano regional titans, Intocable. I am now into my second Bohemia when I ordered a shrimp cocktail and the California roll to start. Both beautifully prepared, I dined on this to kick off my meal and thoroughly enjoyed. There 3 sizes of shrimp cocktail(I ordered medium) and the California roll was assembled beautifully on the plate accompanied by dipping sauces...this was truly a gem! As I'm well into my 4th Bohemia, I ordered what I was looking forward to ordering ...the fish and shrimp soup. Let me tell you...this soup had the perfect amount of veggies to protein and broth that this rounded out my meal and was very satisfied. In between our meals as we celebrated a couple of birthdays at our table, we enjoyed a couple of tequila shots...those went down super smooth as I chased them with my ice cold Bohemia. La Laguna Mariscos and Sushi is conveniently located off of I-2 Frontage Road on South Bensten Rd and I highly recommend them!

Although, I wish that I could claim my entire visit here was perfect, I can't give it 5 stars. The dishes were ok. We ordered the marisco enchiladas and Cuban marisco tacos. Both of which turned out to include fried fish pieces as the main ingredient. I was really disappointed that both dishes were bland, especially the Cuban tacos. They included mango but it wasn't at all flavorful. I wasn't expecting spicy either. Quite frankly, the food just didn't have enough love put into it. The presentation was good. But it wasn't delicious. As far as drinks, this place has the best michiladas I've encountered so far. I really enjoyed the deep tomato spiced base with the dark Modelo beer. The other thing that made the visit unpleasant was the glasses. They were not cleaned and sanitized well. I'm glad that we didn't catch a stomach virus. So, my advise is, if on your visit the drinking glass smells bad, exchange it for a clean one. I'll probably visit again and try a different dish.

Horrible service. Waitresses are scattered all over the place. They are not assigned sections so it is very difficult to get them to bring drinks or chips to you. The waitress assigned to our group did not write down the orders. My co-workers and I ordered first while we waited for our other 2 co-workers to get there. Shortly a gentleman brought two soups but the waitress had written down the wrong other. After a while the waitress came to our table and I asked her where was my order of shrimp cocktail. She told me that she hadn't placed it because computer was not working; however, she had written it down. When my 2 other co-workers arrived, we were trying to get more chips and drinks to our table and asked about 3 different waitresses to no avail. Finally I stopped one waitress and asked her if she could bring me more water and chips,; which she did as she took my glass. I have been there 3 times and 3 times the service has been horrible. Three strikes and you're out with me. I wouldn't recommend this...
