If you are craving the Reese's overload blast, do not order from this location. I took my nephew so he and I could enjoy one. I usually get the Overload blast at the location on 10th St, but the Ware Rd location was closer so I figured it would be the same. Nope, not even close. I ordered two mini Reese's overload blasts with extra peanut butter and asked for whip cream to be added. Yoana is the server who took my order. I let her know the size was a mini and repeated to please add extra peanut butter and asked to please add whip cream. She proceeded to ask me the size I wanted, to which I repeated a third time for both orders to be minis. Yoana let's me know it will be about a 10 minute wait because the ice cream machine is being adjusted. No problem. I proceed to pay on the automated screen and wait. The total was $9.07 and it didn't dawn on me that was a little pricey for two mini blasts. After about 10 minutes, our order arrives and there are two large, not mini, blasts in front of me and then I realized I paid almost ten bucks because the order was for two large and not two minis as I had clarified three times when placing my order. Fine, my mistake for not realizing the price. Well, Yoana had let me know it would be about 10 minutes, but honestly, I think the order sat ready for 10 minutes since the ice cream was pretty much melted and we did not get the overload blast, just the regular Reese's blast. Upon studying the receipt, Yoana not only charged me for extra peanut butter, but she charged me to add peanut butter too. This is a little odd since the Reese's overload blast already comes with peanut butter. Very disappointed. Disappointed that I took it for granted Yoana had heard my order correctly and that I missed catching how much I was paying. I understand places are busy and a million things are happening at once, but don't be in such a rush to take an order just to be done so you can move on to the next order. $10 for a melted ice cream blast I did not order. Sonic on 10th St, I will be seeing you soon. You all know what...
Read moreI go to sonic a lot - probably at least once every 2 weeks. This is the best Sonic out of the ones I’ve gone to in the RGV (ranking at the end of this post). The wait times vary of course if it’s busier you will wait more but it never feels like too much of a wait. The service is good, Sonic employees are always really nice and attentive.
My usual is either just a Sprite Zero or I’ll go ahead and get some tater tots with chilli cheese or hot dog. Also the Sonic smasher burger. Overall the food is always hot, good, and reliable! The Sprite Zero is never flat, always super refreshing. My favorite sonic.
The Sonics I’ve gone to in the RGV ranked:
1- pecan - good wait times, service and quality of Sprite Zero is the best here
2- 10th - wait times long, good service and quality is alright sometimes hit or miss
3- Jackson - really long wait times good service, quality hit or miss.
4-university drive - extremely long wait time, I believe it is understaffed :( good service, qualify hit or miss.
No hate to any of these sonics at all- they are all good but for the purpose of this review I wanted to show how my other sonic experiences compare to this location.
Finally, Thank you Sonic workers for always being really nice and attentive :) like yall are actually underrated, yall have great customer service.
That first Sprite Zero sip out of a route 44 really brightens...
Read moreI give the Sonic Drive-in 5 stars to the one on Ware and Pecan in McAllen . I had to go out of my way to go to that Sonic because the one closest to my home N 10th Street only make 10 portions of onion rings each day which seem to sell very fast . So if you go to get onion rings there you have to go early . I can not understand if this product is made fresh everyday then how come the Manager had not upped the prep amount needed each day . The employees say it because the machine to prep these are broken and it has to be done by hand . Well here's two solutions to your problems fix the machine or get a better Manager and employees who don't think it's to much work to do what they are paid for . Way to go Sonic on Pecan and Ware I'll drive the extra to get the service and product I like . Thank...
