Taco Rico — Restaurant in McAllen

I am writing this review just to let people out there that this place was my favorite place to go for good food. But the customer service has been really bad. I went out there a couple of weeks ago and I normally get coffee ☕ but there was no coffee so I asked for hot chocolate and I asked if they gave free refills and they said yes. But the lady that I asked to get a refill she said we don't give refills on chocolate I said the young man said yes instead of giving the customer a once last free refill the lady said no. My husband went today 3/23/22 he asked for coffee ☕ they had some. He ordered coffee and they normally give free refills. This time that same lady told my husband no refills just BAD Customer Service and they need to post that. Us as regular customers think we can go there to pay for coffee and they are not giving refills anymore. The communication is not working there with the customers. Open for breakfast and all day, Taco Rico offers various kinds of tacos, flautas, tortas, burritos, panchos, parrilladas, and a few plates that can vary such as carne guisada. I chose the combo #1 that included 4 tacos (mine were of deshebrada on corn tortillas with all the garnishes), a dressed baked potato (butter, sour cream and bacon bits), a bowl of beans (simple), and a drink. It was a great price for what I got. The food was served fresh and hot.

Order at the counter, and then fill your own drink and set your number on the table. A server will bring your food to the table.

There are two parts to the dining room, one large enough for groups and a narrower portion divided by a wall with cut-outs.

I ordered a Combo #2 the Taco Pirata. It says that it comes with onion, cilantro, salsa, limes, etc. First off, the microphone at the drive-thru is very faulty, the other end doesn't hear what you're saying and I almost got a wrong order. I ask for green salsa, and they said that it would be included. I'm in a hurry, I get my order, and there is literally no condiments. No salsa, cilantro, onions, limes, nothing. It's pretty disappointing because I made sure that those things would be included, they said yes, and I paid the full amount, and they gave me less than what I paid for.
