This Chipotle’s location is disgusting. Aside from extremely long wait times in line, or for online orders, while decently staffed (at least 6 or more employees walking around aimlessly while one person works the line) they just don’t understand food safety or basic hygiene practices.
The reason I’m giving a one star review is while waiting in line for roughly 10 minutes without moving an inch, someone who was cleaning the dinning room, while wearing gloves, put down their broom and cleaning supplies, then immediately went to the line and touched everything. I mean everything. From food to utensils, if it was on the line they touched it in the space of maybe a minute. I’m not sure they knew how to help or what they were trying to do, but they moved around the one person working the line to touch everything before asking the person in front of me what they wanted to get started. So everything they had on their gloves from cleaning the dinning room and touching cleaning supplies was all over the food, tortillas, etc.
I lost my appetite after seeing that and immediately left. I know that’s an instant fail on food safety inspections, and I’m not a fan of food poisoning. I highly recommend avoiding this chipotle until they can figure out proper food safety and personal hygiene practices. It’s really not that hard to change your gloves and wash your hands before touching food.
This also isn’t the first time I’ve seen such blatant disregard for food safety. Once before I watched a cashier count money on the line with gloves. They were very agitated when I asked them to sanitize the line and change their gloves and wash their hands before making my order. I thought that was a fluke, apparently it’s standard practice to put everything in this restaurant on their line and food items. Never going back to...
Read moreI keep going back hoping that they'll revert to their previous excellence, and after 3 times disappointed, I give up. They barely give you any rice, and when you ask for extra, you get like a tablespoon. They're out of veggies ALL THE TIME. They used to give out generous portions of meat, but the last 3 times, my double meat was approximately as much as I get on a regular bowl in Wexford. About 1/2 the portion of cheese that wexford and mcknight road give out. And to add insult to injury, they 2/3 times they tried to charge me extra when I got my salsa on the side. I explained I put a ton of mild on, but I take it home to microwave so I want it on the side. Apparently more than 2 small cups of mild is "extra salsa that won't be used on a bowl".
This place used to be the best, but I guess management or staffing changed. Save yourself the embarrassment of a teeny tiny bowl that you had to beg for. Go to Wexford. Better service, better portions, and they aren't charging extra for portions of salsa.
EDIT TO ADD: I got a response from corporate telling me that they're very sorry, but all they can do is tell that location they hope they'll give bigger portions in the future.
Also note that corporate told me each store can choose what to charge for. So one location can choose to charge extra for cheese, salsas, even wrappers on the side.
Based on that response, I probably won't be returning to any chipotle in the future. Even McDonalds and other fast food locations offer to make it right. If your customer service is really lacking this much, reconsider who you have in charge. And beware of the...
Read moreI would like to thank the gentleman with the glasses and collared shirt (I think was a kitchen manager) for restoring my hope in chipotle and making me an awesome burrito, McCandless Crossing peeps thank you guys for working hard and actually showing that you are trying to run a business.
Prior to being at this location I stopped at the McKnight location in the Siebert Plaza for the 3rd and final time. The two times prior in the last 6 months they have been out of almost everything on the line, the food that they did have on the line looked like it hadn’t been stirred in multiple hours, no water in wells so good chance that food is at a questionable temperature to be eating, line was a complete hot mess. First two times I was like okay, only one person on the line, it’s after a rush…not their fault. 3rd time…I got there it’s 9:30 long after dinner rush but a hour and half before close. And somehow again same scenario just later in the day, the girl on the line more focused on getting out of there then running a business (Looked like the manager). I asked her if they have anymore lettuce, and she stands there with a smile on her face like no. I just left after that, I would say it’s almost laughable but being that I use to work for chipotle and was apart of opening the McCandless location and trained at McKnight it’s just insulting. You guys can’t sit there and complain about being short staff meanwhile aren’t even trying. You can’t run a restaurant when your out of everything and it being a hour and a half before you close is just a...
