By far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. From the moment you walk into the dark foyer, it smells like urine and sweat. I would have turned around and walked out but my husband's grandparents were with us and they just raved over how much they loved it the last time they went (years ago)... so I tried to stay optimistic. However, the bathrooms are filthy and there is nowhere to change a baby. You can tell they don't clean the place... germs probably get wiped around from time to time with a few dirty dish rags... but this place has never seen a scrub brush and bucket. Ever. It's July and they had dusty old Christmas decorations still up. Oh, and our waitress was crying the entire time she waited on us. Of course, we felt compelled to ask if she was ok. She just kept saying her stomach hurt. Idk. Weird. It was hot and people were crying... not a good experience, at all. Ok, now onto the food... tasteless. I didn't even eat mine. I didn't even take it home. My 2 year old picked all my carrots out and ate them so I guess it wasn't a total waste. I really liked the fried wontons and sauce they give you... until I saw the owner dumping all the old used table sauce jars back into the original storage container. All those customer germs... got poured right back into the non-germy sauce... to be used again tomorrow. Gross. Just throw the used sauces out! Is saving a few cents worth your reputation if you get someone sick!?! I won't ever be back. Ever. I can't even believe I paid actual money...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDined in on Feb. 6, 2023. Wouldn't recommend it. The appetizers were warm. The soups (we had the egg drop and the hot & sour) were disappointing. It was as though they tried adding ingredients to make them "fancy". It didn't work.
The little covers on the entrees are too small to be useful and again aren't as fancy as they think.
I ordered the Szechuan spicy beef. What a let down. It was 85% onions (seriously. WAY too much onion and no other veg to speak of) and if that is their idea of spicy, they should eat at any other restaurant in the South. Very little kick. Not spicy.
The lady had "the four happiness". She really liked it. So there's that. I had a bite and it was pretty good. No complaints on it.
For the price, you can get better literally across the street.
Service was acceptable. Our waitress seemed a bit overwhelmed at times, but I noticed that it had gotten busier while we were eating. It's a shame a good waitress had to serve "meh" food.
With other options so close, I don't see...
Read moreThe staff all seemed attentive and polite. Food is decent. I got the Curry Chicken with a bbq pork appetizer. The pork was tender and had a mild bbq flavor. The chicken was hot and came with veggies that still had a nice crisp freshness. The curry chicken could have been more flavorful, but it wasn't any different than the same dish I'd had at other americanized Chinese food restaurants. My dinner was very reasonably priced; the entree alone was only around $7.75, appetizer was $5-ish. There are also pretty cheap mixed drinks clearly listed in the menu. I tried a frozen Piña Colada ($4-ish). It was good, though a bit liquor heavy. Aesthetically, the restaurant needs major updates. The decor is VERY dated, and the untidy (dirt around air vents, etc) apperance of the restaurant made me feel apprehensive about whether this would be a safe place to eat. Overall, this place is not bad for a quick bite. If you're looking for ambiance, order your food to go or ...
