Checkers — Restaurant in McDonough

I really should have listened when the cashier attempted to refuse me walk up service due to being short staffed. I'm in a semi, I can't fit thru your drive thru. I'm from out of town, and as a former Rallys/Checkers employee, i try to eat Rallys/Checkers wherever I find one and time permits. My experience at this location was 'Horrible' at best. The store had a line wrapped around the building one lane open and door dashers picking up in the second drive thru. Two people in the store and the cashier seemed like he was the only one who had been there working for longer than 30 seconds/days. I waited 60 min (on the cold and rain) ( after ordering online) for my food, and it was chaos. I ordered a sundae that I paid for but never received due to the ice cream machine not working. The loaded fries were definitely loaded w/ cheese sauce, but very few fries. Burgers were very small and not even hot enough to melt the cheese. My order of fries weren't hot at all....(which never happens at any of the stores I've eaten at throughput the east coast and Midwest. The chicken tenders were cooked in spent grease. They were not edible, I took one bite and fed the remaining pieces to my dog. They remained in his dish all night. I spent around $34 and ended up getting a Dominoes pizza from next door. I will say that this was around 6pm, but ive visited this establishment before. It's typically during lunch and I've never had this experience. The lunch crew has been friendly, and fast. If I was able to put zero stars for you guys I would have put zero stars. I ordered at the window and some young little girl that should not be working because she looked as if she was high of some type of substance Asked me what my order was and I told her 3 8 piece chicken tender. I got to the Window And she charge me for one so when I told her I had three orders she took my card and charge me for the last two. They asked me to pull around and I waited patiently just for them to come back to the car with just 2 8 piece chicken tenders. I told the guy it was supposed to be 3 he went back in and came back out and said they said you only ordered 2 go around. I went around told the young lady what was wrong and asked for a manager when I got to the window, The other girl gonna say oh she want to talk to you. So they so call Manager that’s highly unprofessional and should be fired come to the window and he gonna tell me I only pay for two I show him my bank statement and he still going to say I pay for two so then I explain to him that she took my card after I payed for one and then she charged me for 2 more. He’s gonna close the window and look at the system and talk with the ladies then just give me a bag that was already sitting there with chicken tenders in it then when I’m pulling away he slammed the window and walked away talking bull $$$$. Horrible food! Well ordered two big Buford meals. Our burgers had no flavor. They tasted like steamed soy burgers... The cheese was lemon yellow colored. The fries were still good, though this is NOT the quality we had come to expect from checkers from past experiences. We couldn't get our questions answered by the automated system (and I hate automated systems... They're so impersonal). When we asked for a team member nobody ever came and we drove up to the window to place our order. One of the other reviewers said 3 months ago that the staff acted like they didn't seem like they wanted to work and that they moved at a snails pace. The owner responded that they would fix that issue, but nothing has changed. The employee at the window couldn't even answer a simple question when we asked what the upcharge would be on a drink substitution (but I'm her defense the automated system couldn't tell us either, lol)! She had no idea about what their specials were either and seemed completely unaware that they had a 2 for $13 special on Big Buford combos even though it was plastered on a huge sign by the trash can as you drive around and on the menu. We've gone to this location for over 20 years and used to love checkers, but I'm afraid with the poor quality of the food and the horrible service we will not be going back to this location. The service has been bad for a while, but the good was still good. Now with the tasteless burgers we don't really have a good reason...
