UPDATE 6/6/2023 PRICE INCREASE. PICTURES ADDED We feel like the portion of our meals were too small for the prices they're asking for now. The "birria" tacos (really barbacoa with the broth on the side) are small and it had a small amount of meat in them. 3 tacos was not enough to fill a man, although he said the consome (broth) was good. They're small, so double it up if you want to also double the amount you pay. 3 small tacos were $9.33. My Texas Fajita was lacking in taste and it was also small portions for the $15.60 price. The refried beans had no flavor to them, unfortunately. The rice and meat were also lacking in flavor. My son did love his Texas burrito, though. Maybe everything mixed together tasted good. It was $12.48 just for the burrito, no sides. The man taking the order seemed in a rush and could improve in the way he directs himself towards customers.
I will try to see if the gorditas are still good the next time we order from here. But, we were disappointed with the portion and lack of flavor.
PICTURE OF MENU TAKEN ON 9/26/2022
We moved to Ola a little while ago and have been trying different restaurants in order to find a favorite. My husband is from Mexico, so he was psyched to find another restaurant to try in the area. Today, he bought 2 pork tamales, 1 chicharron (pork skin) gordita and 1 bean and steam gordita, 2 biscada tacos (mixed meat). My steak and bean gordita was pretty tasty, warm and fresh. My husband enjoyed his food. The lady in the front is also very pleasant and friendly. We're so happy to have found a spot nearby to buy authentic, and tasty Mexican food!
Read moreThis is located next to a gas station, so the atmosphere is nothing special But the service was great, and the lady took care of me, spanish speaking and english. I got one chicken tamale and pork, and also, the Menudo. (Available only weekends) and the pineapple juice. Tamales were great, no complaints. The pineapple juice, i dont know, tasted very artificial. Like it was syrup and not actual pineapple juice, unless the juice i got was old or something, idk. Out of 10 the juice ill give a 6.5. The Menudo was the main character! LOVED IT. The only think i would say about the menudo, is it didnt have any hominy corn at all, it was only the tripa and the cilantro and cebolla on the side. Wish they gave more limes with it.. it comes with 3 corn tortillas, which i wasnt aware, but very grateful because the were so good. Will be coming back for menudo on the weekend, but will come in early for it, because im not sure if they were running low,...
Read moreI ordered 3 chorizo tacos and 3 al pastor tacos. The chorizo tasted like Taco Bell’s processed meat, and the al pastor had a strong curry flavor—nothing close to authentic Mexican food. I couldn’t eat them.
I first tried to speak with the waiter, but he just said that’s what I had ordered. Then I spoke with the cashier, trying to do it quietly, but she raised her voice and said the meat comes pre-packaged, basically confirming it was the same as fast food. She also mentioned that the curry flavor in the pastor is just “how they make it.”
I love real Mexican food, and this place was a huge disappointment. Nothing about it felt authentic. For my taste, the food was very bad, and I do not recommend wasting...
