Ordered parrillada mexicana fajitas, veggies fajitas, and al cabron taco... it was okay.
Parrallada - never had before - Chicken, steak, bbq?, shrimp, chorizo? veggies; not really barbacoa it wasn't very flavorful, same with chorizo. None really had a strong flavor. Sort of bland. No cheese or anything either.
We ordered 2 fajita dinners.. those 2 meals alone over $35... we got 4 corn tortillas total. 4 tortillas for 2 fajita dinners? Thats crazy. Thats barely enough for 1. Bland tortillas also. Tasted almost like flour it was so bland.
Al cabron taco - never had before. It tasted like old, bland asada. Wasn't very flavorful. Decent size for the taco. Small lime wedge.
1 small bag chips 1 small bag salsa. I usually get 2 small bags and 2 small salsa at minimum with a 2 meal order. I feel like we got shorted 50%. Salsa wasn't very flavorful. No spice to it. Watery.
2 small things of sauce. For 2 meals and 1 extra taco. Typically I get 2 sauces for 1 taco... so would expect like 6 but we got 2. 1 Verde and 1 avocado? Neither was spicy. At all. Bland and tasted like water. I was really let down at this point. I ordered Mexican food, especially what I think is authentic, for spicy flavorful food and extremely hot sauce. There was abosolutely no spice or heat to this. The flavors were mid at best. Bland. The portions made me mad with 4 tortillas for 2 fajita meals. Also the chips were good for 1 meal, not 2. Everything else they had great portions, good size.
Overall not impressed. I thought this was the place at the gas station but accidently ordered here. Turned out it wasn't good. Probably won't be back although I tried to like the taste really bad.. but it just wasn't there. Bland. No heat. No spice. I should have ordered Indian food.
Service was good they were quick with...
Read moreOh well... looks like this place has gone off the deep end like some other small local restaurants with this tipping stuff! Ughh. Now if you have 5 or more (regardless of whether it includes kids) or if you don't have a $80 ticket- they do auto gratuity. It's sad because restaurants went from asking for a tip for everything to now TAKING A TIP for coming in and having a seat. It erodes your dinning experience. Now SERVICE doesn't matter bc they gonna get a tip regardless.
For all my people that say they get paid way less... I again and that's why I choose to tip more than 20% but as a matter of principle I refuse to be told what I have to tip when the person serving the table puts in minimal effort but will take my 18%. I know that management and owners see the difference in traffic and now regardless of the experience servers probably are making less. As a customer I can tell bc there are less people there at any given time.
There are places that I now X off my option for eating out due to changes like this. Don't force customers to tip for severs showing up to work.
In all fairness- it was posted on the door with a bunch of other signs that nobody reads walking in to a restaurant ( i asked the server when i got my check & read it on the way out) Also the food wasn't bad and my server wasn't awful but when you force me to tip based on minimum of $80 ticket or bc I sat down with kids in my party I have a problem with that. SMH. I will visit one of the other million Mexican restaurants in the area and give them a tip for my real experience.

Read moreThis use to be my absolute favorite restaurant. Let me start by saying I’ll NEVER be back. The place was completely empty on a Saturday night which was a red flag to me because this place is usually packed around 8:30-9:00pm. Not a single person was sitting down eating. I ordered quesabirria as I always do and a chalupa. When the food came the “chalupa” was definitely not a chalupa but more so a tostada. I always have a problem with the servers not knowing what they actually serve so I asked and already knew the server didn’t have a clue. I googled a chalupa for her and she was like OOOOH YEA! The restaurant I use to work at makes them and the food is really good! The servers also ordered pizza that night and didn’t even eat the food there…. Another red flag. The guy who’s always in there was called over, I think he’s the manager because he’s always sitting down watching tv when we come on slow days. When he got to the table I explained that what they brought was definitely not a chalupa. He said, “it’s not like what you get when you go to Taco Bell, it’s real Mexican.” I was like sir.. clearly not because y’all don’t even know what a chalupa is. I showed my google results and he said yea well we don’t make it like that! I said ok well you all shouldn’t call it something that it’s not. I asked to swap it out for another quesabirria and now I’m home with FOOD POISING!!! Never again will I step foot here! I inserted a pic of the nothing but fat...
