We have ordered take out from the Frisco store, and we were happy to see one closer to us in McKinney. The place is bright and clean, and the two people at the counter were very enthusiastic and friendly. We ordered the wood ear mushrooms, pork soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, beef noodle soup, and a pork bun. All together, it was about $50.
At the table, there is soy sauce, dumpling sauce, and chili sauce available. It was pretty busy when we were there. I enjoyed watching the chefs prepare the food.
The mushrooms were exactly what my husband wanted, and he also liked the soup. The noodles were perfect, made fresh. The beef was tender. The soup wasn't too spicy, but there was chili at the table to add for more spice. The soup dumplings had plenty of soup, and the dumpling was soooo good! I love shrimp dumplings, and these were really good, with a mild shrimp flavor, perfect texture, and the wrapper was so perfectly glutinous haha (IYKYK). The pork bun was great.
The lady came by to check on us, and she did mention that the McKinney restaurant doesn't add as much soy sauce in their dishes as the Frisco restaurant, so off you want me of that salty flavor, maybe Frisco is more for you. I loved everything we had, so we're good here.
Give it a try! Once Feng Cha is open next door, then I'll have both...

I visited 88 BaoBao in McKinney, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The restaurant is bright, clean, and cozy — perfect for enjoying authentic Chinese comfort food.
The staff were warm and attentive, always smiling and quick to serve. You can tell they really care about the dining experience.
The food was outstanding. The pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao) were juicy and flavorful with thin, delicate wrappers. The crab & pork dumplings, pork bun, and egg custard buns were also amazing — each bite felt fresh and handmade. I also recommend the scallion pancake and beef roll, both crispy and full of flavor.
Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and everything tastes authentic. You can really feel the craftsmanship in every dish.
If it gets a bit busy during peak hours, the wait is totally worth it. This is easily one of the best Chinese dumpling spots in McKinney. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be...
Read morePlace is new and clean. Quality and quantity not the same as the Frisco store. Soup dumpling has way more soup and way less meat here (not necessarily a bad thing). Everything else taste slightly different. Daily lunch special does fill you up, but quality is surprisingly behind the best Panda (if you're lucky) around. Kung Pao chicken had no spice and practically no sauce. Chicken was first fried before stir-fried, not a good texture, very dry. Egg rolls were very fresh and crispy but bland due to them being veggie rolls. Pig ears were salty and portion was tiny. Their gratuity interface listed 15% as the smallest pre-set choice, while Frisco has it at 10%. The guy cashier was like an AI robot with minimal emotion. I like...
