Rice Pot Express — Restaurant in McKinney

This was my first time at this location and WOW. Let me tell you, I am as picky as it gets when it comes to Chinese food, tasted everything from good to bad, even though this may be a little out of my way and dozen other Chinese restaurants between my house and Rice Pot, this is it. No longer do I have to look for another good Chinese restaurant.

My wife always gets General Tso's no matter where we go, and she thought this was the best General Tso's. After trying a few bites myself I had to agree with her statement.

The egg-drop soup was also done right. Not too dense like some places overdo it, just right.

I had the Happy Family and in my opinion it's something that can taste awful real quick if not done right. So to put this place to a test that's exactly what i ordered. WOW made me think of that Sonic commercial (when dudes mind was blown and he had to write it down in his notebook)

Either way, just like the previous person wrote it's great food, portions are large and staff seems to be very kind. From the little conversation that we had, they told me it's under new management, so take it for what it's worth.

I am going to make this my weekly Chinese...

The girl that answered the phone was not very friendly but don’t let her scare you away. The delivery guy was here early, actually had a hard time finding my apartment and was talking to me as he’s running to get my food to me. A+ plus for effort! I am a huge fan of Black Pepper Chicken but few make it correctly.. The food is amazing.. the only thing that kept me from giving 5 ⭐️’s is the fried rice... it lacked Distinctive flavor such as adding egg, onion and soy sauce.. over all I’m impressed !! And a special thanks to my delivery guy.. u really busted out...

We ordered takeout a few nights ago and were quite satisfied with everything we got. The menu is mid-sized, but there are a TON of customizations you can make for every dish--well done, extra meat, spice level, added ingredients, etc--and our order was ready super quick! I ordered Szechuan shrimp and it was LOADED with shrimp! We received complementary fried wonton strips with each entrée. The gentleman at the counter also made sure we got our drinks which was very nice.

Ordering through their website gives you a decent discount, to boot, but did take a little getting used to. This place is open a bit later than all the other Chinese restaurants, so I can imagine we'll be...
