Desi Spice Cafe — Restaurant in McKinney

Today I have visited Desi Spice Cafe restaurant near Walmart (near N Custer road and highway 380) and wanted to share my feedback regarding the dishes I ordered. I tried the Talapakatti Biriyani and Chettinadu Chicken Fry, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.

The biriyani had an unusual texture that resembled a ragi bowl, and the chicken fry seemed overly greasy, as if it had been dipped in oil. It gave the impression that the items may have been leftover and reprocessed. This raised concerns about the freshness and quality of the food being served.

For those who are health-conscious, I would not recommend these dishes, as the preparation and presentation did not reflect the standards expected from a reputable establishment.

Tried a few items today and were very disappointed. Taste of briyani was worse. Being a briyani lover, I love almost every briyani. One of the worst tasting Hyderabad chicken briyani I ever had in my life. Chennai mutton briyani was below average. Briyani is definitely old. Some rice was dry and it was like eating 3 days old rice. Quantity of their briyani is far too less. Chilli chicken and chicken 65 taste was good though. We ordered chole batura and it was worse. Taste was ok not great but the worst part is the gravy amount they serve. It won’t last for even 1 poori. When we requested for gravy, it was half the price of a chole batura. We wanted to express our sincere gratitude for the delicious food and outstanding service at our housewarming closure event. As part of the food tasting, the owner did offer variety of food and helped us to choose an appropriate menu for the event.
