R&B Tea McKinney — Restaurant in McKinney

I recently moved to the area and decided to try this place after reading so many great reviews. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t match the hype. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted at all in fact, I was looked at directly and then ignored. I probably should have taken that as a sign and left, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and tried ordering from the self-service kiosk. The kiosk wasn’t accepting payments, so I couldn’t complete my order there.

While I was trying to figure things out, a family walked in and was immediately greeted and helped, which only highlighted how dismissive my experience was. When I approached the counter to order, there was still no greeting. The person helping me seemed irritated, rushed me through my order, spoke so quietly I could barely hear, and got visibly annoyed when he had to repeat himself.

After finally placing my order, I was told it would take about 7 minutes for my corn dog. When I got it, I was really disappointed it was about 95% cheese and only 5% hot dog. I’ve had Korean hot dogs before and usually expect more than a tiny piece of meat. I also ordered a drink, but it tasted strongly of perfume and was honestly undrinkable.

Delicious boba tea! Stopped in for the first time & tried the brown sugar boba milk tea. It was surprisingly not TOO sweet like they often are. The boba texture was great- chewy and tender. The owner asked us to try our drinks before leaving and said she could adjust it if we needed it less sweet. So kind! It tasted perfect. My husband tried the roasted oolong tea with boba and also enjoyed it. It was a friendly, clean establishment. I saw another review stating they are dog-friendly indoors which is rare and exciting, so we will definitely be stopping again with our dogs for a visit in the future. My husband and I have been regular customers of R&B since they opened, and it has become our new favorite boba place because of the politeness of the staff, quality of the drinks, consistent great taste, and uniqueness of the flavors.

One of the first times we visited, we received a drink that we weren’t particularly fond of and the staff was quick to offer to make us a new drink at no extra charge to find something we enjoyed. It’s responses like that that result in loyal satisfied customers who see that their business is valued and appreciated.
