I normally wouldn’t rate a church and God’s house like this, but the reason I’m leaving a review is because I feel personally somethings need to change within this church’s system. My Husband and I have been attending this church regularly since we moved to the area from Wylie. We had to find a new church closer to home and we found this church. My only complaints are that this Pastor tends to go over service time EVERY SUNDAY with the 10:30 service and makes the 11 o’clock service wait way past time for their service to start. Then to add insult to injury he rushes through our service I feel like because he is given some of our time to the 10:30 service when he always over laps the time. It’s almost like showing a favoritism in my opinion. People are having to stand and sometimes stand in the heat because the lobby area is so overpacked with people who are waiting for the 11 o’clock service and no chairs for people. It’s really uncomfortable for people waiting and in my opinion very unprofessional to do that almost every Sunday! One Sunday here and there is understandable and I understand when you’re in the Spirit sometimes you will lose track of time. Even Jesus though in His day knew where He had to be and how long He should take in each city He taught the gospel in. Jesus respected people and their time as well. I don’t feel this Pastor respects people time when he repeatedly makes the last group wait and in result have to leave later as well. Standing in the heat and the lobby being overpacked because so many people are waiting every Sunday because of bad time management on his part. Also, I personally feel it’s not Godly or professional for both him and his Wife wearing skinny jeans every Sunday to preach and sing on stage. We are all called both males and females to be modest for a reason I shouldn’t have to spell out here on this review and dressing like that is not good at church in God’s house. One thing coming as you are and an another thing coming in a way that may make a Sister in Christ or a Brother in Christ sin. Clothes that tight to the body is just not good at church. Other than that we have been enjoying coming here and I don’t mean to leave a review that tears down anything God is doing in this church. These are just some of the things I’ve observed that could change for the betterment and wanted to leave my insight here...
Read moreCurrently, my family and I are in the process of finding a church home since we're relatively new to the McKinney area. We decided to visit this church and, as the pastor suggests, gave it six weeks to see if it was a good fit for us. One of the things I really appreciated was how the pastor breaks down chapters of the Bible, providing historical context and explaining the meanings behind specific words. As someone who’s also studying the Bible, I found this approach really insightful and enjoyable.
However, when our six weeks came to an end this past Sunday, I prayed for guidance, asking God to show us if this was the right place for us. Unfortunately, our last day there was a bit uncomfortable. Normally, someone would help guide you to a seat and let others know you're coming down the aisle, which had been our experience on previous Sundays. This time, the woman who assisted us just pointed to an aisle and said we could try sitting there. I was expecting her to inform the people, but she didn’t, so I had to tap someone on the shoulder to ask if we could get through to the available seats.
The response I got was less than welcoming—the man I spoke to, who I’ve seen there before wearing the 'Senior Discount' hat, turned to me and said, ‘WHAT?’ quite loudly and in a rude manner, which caught me off guard. I explained that we were just trying to get to the seats, but the situation felt awkward, especially when his wife seemed to give us unwelcoming looks while we sat down. It definitely made for an uncomfortable experience.
I don’t want my experience to discourage anyone from checking out the church, though. I genuinely enjoyed the pastor’s teachings and how straightforward and deep they were. It’s just that our last visit didn’t leave us with the most...
Read moreSo I’ve been going to Revolution Church for about 3 months now and it’s been great, for the most part… The service is great and I love the worship team! Although I’ve never been able to meet Pastor Randy, his sermons are awesome and he’s pretty funny lol. If you are looking for a “home” in a church I wouldn’t say this is the place to go. Yes they are welcoming but if you are trying to get more involved with the community, lead, and serve then this isn’t the place to go. I had to leave the other church I used to go to because it was so hard to get involved with the community. I’ve been going to Revolution Church for a few months now and it’s pretty crazy to say that not once have I gotten a chance to meet the pastor. I was trying to serve with the kids and they ran a background check which I obviously passed but after that, I texted some of the administrators one of them being Desiree. I texted her multiple times and at first she was very nice but then she just stopped responding. There was another lady named Emily who told me that she’d get back to me but she never did. I also brought a friend with me and she’s been wanting to serve as well but the same thing happened to her too. Im just so confused as to why they always say we NEED more people to help serve but clearly that’s not true. I was very disappointed because I truly thought Revolution was my home in Christ but I have to go elsewhere to be able to connect with a church. Again, the service is great just don’t waste your time trying to get more involved with the community. God...
