Hunan Express — Restaurant in McLean

This was probably the worst quality Chinese carryout food I've had in years so maybe I'll give them another shot and see if things changed and the food is better quality or if i went on an off day and was unlucky. Having said that I'm not sure how this little carry-out place has all these 4 and 5 star reviews, people must've received free food, or the people reviewing have no idea what your typical American Chinese carryout food and quality should be. I ordered a lunch special Kung Pao chicken with fried rice. The chicken was of very poor quality and the sauce was not good, the fried rice was also poor quality and not prepared well. Food was not yummy at all. The egg roll was tiny for a Chinese carryout place, not made in house and of cheap poor quality. If they can't even do a decent Kung Pao chicken then I'd imagine the rest of the food is pretty similar with poor quality ingredients and lack of cooking with love. I wasn't impressed at all, poor quality and not prepared well to the standard of even an average American Chinese carryout place, so that's why they don't even get 2 or 3 stars because their food was below average...

Mixed bag. Unless this was just a busy/off night, their online ordering app tells you the food will be ready way faster than it is. I was in the restaurant with a handful of other people, all who had to wait twice as long as they were told they would.

The food was actually pretty good, though our order was messed up. There was no dumpling sauce included...dumplings are pretty good on their own but the sauce makes them better, so forgetting that kind of stinks. We were given egg rolls we didn't order unless they were thrown in as an apology for the wait. We were also given a large tub of sweet and sour sauce that didn't belong to anyone's meal. Hopefully these items weren't meant for someone else.

Anyway, the food is decent, but I'm not sure it is worth the aggravation when there are a bunch of other...

The is restaurant has never failed to exceed my expectations when it comes to the awesome way that they prepare the Chinese food. I've come to this location a few times, and each and every time they have hit the mark. My friend and I came here early today for a nice lunch, and by the time that we arrived there was only one group of customers seated at a table. We grabbed the next table that was available and placed our order right away. I order the beef and broccoli, because it's always been my go-to when it comes to Chinese food. My friend ordered the black pepper chicken meal. It took the guys in the kitchen less than eight minutes to prepare our food, and we were ready for t!
