As a whole I love Applebee's but this one was a complete disaster! From the time we walked in the door it was a just a joke, I was a waitress and bartender in my 20's and I was a very good one at that I don't need amazing service or anything but this was literally insane! When we arrived the restaurant was about 30% full yet the hostess wanted to seat us at a small table for two people in the middle of a group of families who had young children, we asked for a booth and she insisted that there weren't any available when I could see several on both sides of the restaurant and in the middle. After my persistence she moved us, then our server arrived...she was flustered and had no idea that the kitchen was out of two of the things we had ordered. At one point she comes back to the table and says, "the situation with the cheeseburger is fine you can get one" so thinking nothing of it I did. Then we ordered our drinks LOL the bartender had absolutely no idea how to make drinks she was just pouring ridiculous amounts of liquor into glasses and serving them up to the whole place I saw at least six people complain while I was there. Now back to the "burger situation" our food appeared fine good, it had good presentation and was hot when it arrived to the table. My daughter ate her food and she was fine, I was unable to finish my burger so I cut it half to bring the other half home (only a 15 minute drive) to my husband. After eating the burger he said to me that he wondered if they had started making them differently because it tasted different, the next day we were both extremely sick and we were both so sick that there is not a doubt in my mind that it was the "burger situation" moral of this story...eat there at...
Read moreRE: UPDATE: APPLEBEE'S has once again dropped the ball when it comes to food preparation. It is incredibly disappointing to see repetitive and preventable food preparation disasters when proper food preparation would actually have been easier to accomplish than what was served. A roll up is not a quesidilla and easier to prepare. I gave the benefit of doubt the first time we received a grilled soggy mess instead of the usual rollup that we have ordered for years, but after the third repeated failure I decided to recant my previous positive review. Once again I am disappointed and confused as to what is happening that the failure is so systematic and similiar that I assume there has been a breakdown of training and communication in the cookstaff. Do better Applebee's, I'm sure this isn't a failure at cookstaff level and more likely a lack of proper recipe training and communication. My girlfriend has in the past worked for Applebee's in several locations and this is not how food should be served. Do better. UPDATE: APPLEBEE'S has been on point lately with no issues at all, so I have decided to update my earlier review. I will increase stars over time as the great service and food continue.
The double cheeseburger was terrible. Overcooked, the patties were half-sized, with burned edges and cheese, vegetables barely existed, and food was cold. I've had better $1 burgers from McDonald's, and this was supposed to be a $15 burger with two big patties. #neighborhoodburger #Applebee's #bad...
Read moreI took my daughter and 2 of my grandchildren to dinner around 9pm on a Thursday night. We ordered my granddaughter the children's Mac & cheese with fries. My grandson ordered the 2 for $25 chicken tenders and fries and made 1 of them a platter to take home to my son-in-law. He ordered cheese sticks for his appetizer. My daughter and I ordered the blackened shrimp with steak, broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes. My daughter added mushrooms on top of her steak. We all ordered a soda to drink. My food was not what I would call hot. My potatoes were actually cold and I had to ask for more. The food did taste good and our steaks were cooked perfectly. The service was great. Our waitress and someone from the kitchen both apologized for the temperature of the food. The atmosphere was okay but the restaurant could have used an update in decor. The bill was $91.19. There were 3 extra charges of $1.99. One for the added mushrooms which I expected but two of the charges were because we had the loaded mashed potatoes which was one of the sides that we could choose from on the menu. The portion of mashed potatoes was small and cold. I don't think we should have had an extra charge for them. There was also a $2 charge for making one of the chicken tenders a platter, which was expected. I felt almost $3 each for drinks was overpriced. I haven't been to Applebee's in a long time and don't expect to be going back...
