My wife was craving some fish, so off to Captain D's I go lol. I got there about 8:05 PM or so, on July 6th, and pulled right up to the menuboard. The person taking my order was super nice, and had a welcoming tone. I asked if they had a 3 PC Fish and Fries. She explained that the fish and fries is only available in a 2 PC, but the Fish and More is a 3 PC, so I ordered the Fish and Fries. I drove right around to the window, and I was greeted by a super nice woman. I'm terrible with names, but it may have been Jennifer. She took my money, made change, and told me it would be ready in a minute or so. Not a problem, as I was thinking, fresh fries! Well, a minute became several. Then, after a bit, Jennifer came back and apologized for the wait, said just a little longer. Waiting, listening to the radio, no problem. Minutes go by. She comes back and apologizes again and asks if I would like a drink while I waited? Sure I would! She gets me a big ole refreshing Pepsi, (so good), and apologizes again, says just a minute. A few more minutes tick by, I'm jamming and chillin' with my delicious Pepsi, thinking, wow, could be having trouble in there, but at least Imma getting fresh hot food, and I have my yummy, (free!), Pepsi keeping me company. So, a couple minutes later, she comes back and apologizes again, gives me a courtesy card for a free meal and apologizes again, saying it should never take so long for a Fish and Fry. I say no problem! Thanks so much for her awesome attitude and taking care of me. A minute or so later, she's back with my wife's food, apologized again and said, all fresh and hot. I thank her again and off I go with fresh, hot yummy for my baby. I don't know how long the entire process was, or what happened in there, but the way Jennifer, (the name on the courtesy card), handled the wait and her awesome attitude made a potentially horrible visit into a great visit. The way she treated me made me not even care how long it took. She deserves recognition for a great job! IDK if her name is Jennifer or not, I hope so, or that they can find who she was, that is the name on the card, Jennifer King. GREAT JOB, JENNIFER!!!! Thanks so much!...

The fish is so disgusting now, and it literally made me expunge on my plate. I thought the fish was spoiled. I took it back up to the counter and was told, "Sorry, it isn't spoiled. Corporate couldn't find the correct fish due to supply issues and COVID, so they have this instead." I was totally disgusted with this change. I was offered chicken instead, but that too is disgusting with this "hand breaded" crap that tastes like a TV dinner option.
These changes were over a year ago. The fish is still nasty. The chicken is putrid. It is at every Capn'D's, now. I have noticed the decrease in customers and many I have talked to agree.
Bring back the original chicken, fish and Sweet and Sour sauce!
Capn'D's used to be one of the best restaurants in town. Now, it is the worst with such ignorant food changes by corporate or management. I have been a loyal fan since the 70s, but I refuse to go there since the food quality was changed in favor of some cheaper crap. Most old people won't complain about the disgusting changes. Most young people really don't know any better. Do the right thing and bring back the original food that made Capn'D's a favorite among many!
The service is always spectacular at this location. Corporate should be more supportive of them and fix the disgusting...
Read moreThis was the first trip to new site/location for a family meal to go,I always purchase this because I have a large family.Well,when I finally got home..long day,ppl.,running in and out grabbing a quick plate for dinner not eating at same time or at allI!!..Because they forgot the"Frinch Fries"in my order!!!..Again!!..I stopped going to Captain D's restaurant before because of 3 out 4 last times picking up family meals to go they forgot the fries 2 times and the Cole slaw the next time..I don't live close to the restaurant nor do I feel that I should have to make a trip back to pick up part of my order,it just ruined the whole meal.It's not cheap and I paid full price..My family is on a limited income once bill's are paid we don't eat out often and when we do it should be a enjoyable experience!!.Especially for me"Mom"!..I'm getting a break from cooking and I love fish and fries..."NO MORE FISH...
