Chicken Chef — Restaurant in McMinnville

Upon my arrival, I was immediately in awe of that perfectly golden rooster on the big white sign reading, “Chicken Chef.” This place embodies what it means to be a true American. Work hard + eat chicken. I knew that I had reached Heaven. Could the gates be located in McMinnville? I walk in. The air quality was unlike any other air I have ever breathed. It was so fresh and crisp like a honey crisp apple on a fall morning. I sit down at that beautiful leather green booth right in the corner with the sun shining down on me. I order the sweet tea…. my tastebuds immediately all die at the taste because it is so good. I ordered the Cheeseburger with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and Corn Nuggets. This is when I knew that I had truly had an out of body experience. With every bite, Heaven felt closer and closer. I don’t know what that Rooster is doing to cook like that, but I know it’s right. I asked the owners if they would be willing for me to live there and they did say no…. so I did cry for a second, but quickly realized that it was for the best. This world is not my home. Absolutely horrid service. We opted for dine in because I was told that the experience was great. Placed our order. Two double cheeseburgers, one with mustard instead of mayo. The no mayo was repeated twice. The waitress even said it. We waited half an hour to get our food, and when it arrived with the ticket, it had mayo. So much in fact the bun was completely soggy. Nowhere on the ticket did the waitress write to exclude it. When we confronted the manager and stated that we would not be paying for it, she responded with 'We don't really do that, but I can include a free double cheeseburger on your next visit.' We had no intentions of coming back and made that known to her. She caved and agreed to remove the burger from our total. Finally, when she rang up the ticket to be paid, she asked if we wanted to leave a tip. As if.

The burger that we did get to eat was actually quite tasty, but the service has completely ruined this...

First time I've eaten here and both my friend and I really loved our food, he got catfish and I had 2pc fried chicken (mash potatoes, cole slaw, and I also ordered some corn nuggets which were great, it was a small amount but perfect for me). Price not much more than KFC but 10x better food (both meals ended up about $12 each, after tax tho not including tip). Service was fast and friendly. I give it 5 stars for what it is, which is pretty cheap and quick homestyle food. Inside ain't pretty, basically a hole in the wall but not in a wall. I'm not one to care about that but since "atmosphere" is included, that's the explanation. Also since it's winter, every time the door opened brought the freezing air in. No big deal but stay...
