Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in McNair

Received a coupon from Tropical Smoothie via email because I come to this location about twice a week. Coupon was for $1.99 Smoothie if I ordered a wrap or flatbread. The coupon is what got me to come to the store today.

During my visit, it took the cashier quite a while to get my order put into the system. That’s fine, I wasn’t in a rush and it seemed like she might be new. However, the system did not enter the coupon correctly and then another employee came over to help.

The other employee looked at the coupon, after I pleasantly and patiently waited there for about 10 minutes, and found excuse after excuse for why they wouldn’t accept it. He was extremely rude, found a bunch of excuses for reasons why he wouldn’t take the coupon, none of which were restrictions specified on the coupon. Eventually, he just said they weren’t participating in this promotion and still tried to take my money at full price. I left and went to the Chantilly location, and they were great and took the coupon as they should.

I wasn’t just buying a smoothie and a wrap. Even with the coupon, my order would’ve been $16. Instead of getting some money, this location got none, and it was just because of that second person who came over. I got the coupon as a thanks for regularly visiting Tropical Smoothie. Prior to today, this was the location I always visited. I won’t be coming here again. You should avoid it, too. The Chantilly location is much nicer, and they actually honor promotions even if the system does not immediately recognize the...

The food reminded me of warm Styrofoam. Smoothies have literally no flavor. The textures is reminiscent of "chunky cold." I feel that my time could have been better spent playing chicken with on coming traffic. Granted, I am a fat person so maybe I have become too reliant on things like flavor, texture, and satisfaction from the things I eat. Granted also that I was raised to regard food as something to enjoy and dining as something that should be enjoyed with friends. This cold, soulless edible mass seems like less something that should be enjoyed and more like something that two health conscious lovers would wink at each other over and smugly smile about how young, hip, and intelligent they are and how that because they put cold chunky soulless Smoothies into their bodies and denying themselves the joys of food that have flavor and soul and the ability to actually fill you up they are going to outlive the patrons of the McDonald's next door. You maybe able to out a run those patrons, but there are far more McDonald's, and we will lie in wait. You have strength and endurance. We are Legion. Remove one of us and the next blobs over and fills the break...

I love tropical smoothie but this location I will never come back to again. I placed my order through the app to be ready at 8:30. Ay 820, I called and rescheduled for it to be ready at 8:45 because I was running a little late. I got here at 9 unfortunately but I would hope that my food and my smoothie would already be ready. I walk in and there is one lady standing there and there's one guy seated there are no other customers. I walked up to the online or app order line to get my food and you have 2 guys in the back chatting away. Both of them look at me and never acknowledged that I'm standing there. 3 minutes passed while they're still chatting and I'm looking right in their faces. They look at me and go back to talking. Finally one comes over asks me what I need it. I told him that I placed an order on line then he goes back chatting some more and then brings me my food. I should have walked out and requested my money back but I decided I will never ever come back to this location. The customer service...
