There's a mission statement of sorts in the front page of the extensive menu. It talks about bringing affordable food to its customers. My chicken dish was $26 and one naan was $3.99. add tip and my meal was $35 with tap water. Had I ordered a drink my bill would have been in the $45-50 range with tip. I don't think the meal or the experience was worth that and therefore the 3 stars because the prices didn't align with the "mission" statement. My colleague ordered a dum biriyani (2 pieces of chicken with lots of rice) that set him back $21+tips. The Bhatti Chicken was delicious - had 5 decent sized pieces of chicken and lots of flavourful gravy. It came with a small serving of plain rice. The biryani was nothing to write home about. Medium spicy was pretty spicy. The restaurant is nicely set in the old Minerva and later Tatva restaurant's spot. The decor is upscale and welcoming. White table cloths, white napkins, white dishes, well chosen silverware, nice drinking glasses. The services attempts to be classy as well - the wait staff is neatly dressed in white pressed shirts and black trousers. They are polite. We were quickly seated at a table for two on a Wednesday afternoon. There were quite a few empty tables. Great place to bring a client to lunch and you'll be expensing your meal!

I always believed no other state in the U.S. could rival the rich flavors of Indian restaurants in Texas, but Mirch Dhamaka has completely changed my perspective. From the very first bite, it was clear this place lives up to its name. #DHAMAKA💥💥 The keema puri was a masterpiece, with perfectly spiced minced meat on side to the golden, flaky puris that were a delight to savor. The Dhamaka Dosa— paired with refreshing and tangy chutneys was equally impressive, and left a lasting impression. Every dish was a celebration of authentic Hyderabadi style. Just WOW!🥹😋😋❤️‍🔥 What truly set Mirch Dhamaka apart during our breakfast was the exceptional service provided by their warm and attentive staff. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine smiles and made to feel right at home. The team ensured every detail of our experience was perfect, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in just the right amount. The desserts were the perfect finale— Rasmalai was luxuriously creamy with just the right sweetness, while the khubani-ka-meetha, served with vanilla ice cream, offered a rich, tangy-sweet apricot flavor that was simply “DIVINE” All Hyderabad food lovers, assemble—this is absolutely Jannat for your taste buds! 🙌🏻💥💥

This morning, I enjoyed a delightful breakfast here at "Mirch Dhamaka", an Indian restaurant that beautifully showcases South Indian cuisine. From the moment I walked in, the warm aromas  and soothing sounds of divine music, creating a serene atmosphere that made me feel right at home. I ordered the South Indian breakfast, which was served on traditional banana leaves—the only restaurant I’ve found that honors this beautiful aspect of Indian culture. The meal included crispy 'Mysore masala dosa ' accompanied by three delicious chutneys. The ginger chutney was the standout for me—its perfect balance of sweetness and spice was delightful, and the flavorful sambar tied the meal together wonderfully. The service at Mirch Dhamaka was exceptional, with attentive staff eager to enhance my dining experience. They provided helpful recommendations and made sure I had everything I needed. Overall, this restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors. The combination of great food, cultural presentation, and warm hospitality left me feeling satisfied and eager to return for more!

1 Star – Dangerous, Disrespectful, and Possibly Discriminatory – Never Again

We had a terrible and traumatic experience at Mirch Dhamaka in Herndon tonight around 8 PM.

First and most alarming — my wife slipped and fell in their bathroom because of their neglected and unsafe conditions. She ended up with a fractured bone and we had to spend over three hours in the emergency room . Not a single staff member offered help, showed concern, or even apologized. The restaurant acted like it wasn't their fault. That alone should be enough to shut a place down.

Against our better judgment, we still tried to eat — but the nightmare continued. The waiter got our order wrong, and when I ordered Chicken Karahi, they brought Paneer Karahi instead.

When I pointed it out, the waiter started arguing with me, made me wait another 20 minutes, and the new dish they brought was loaded with salt and extremely spicy, even though I had clearly asked for mild.It honestly felt like they deliberately ruined the dish out of spite.

What’s worse: the same waiter asked if we were from Punjab, India. When we said yes, he never came back to serve us again. That kind of selective service based on ethnicity is disgusting and should never happen in any business.

When we asked to speak toa manager, we were told no one was available — clearly another lie to avoid accountability. PORTIONS ALSO LIKE CHILDREN SIZE. I also have chest tightness because good was super spicy and have dirty cheap masala ingredients that has caused it. They have a lot of fake 5 ster reviews being said I will report to goggle abour 1000s of their fake reviews and to the FTC Federal trade comission. They will investigate all your genuine fake reviews.

This place is unsafe, rude, unprofessional, and may even be discriminating based on ethnicity. We will be reporting this incident to the health department, and we urge others: DO NOT eat at Mirch Dhamaka if you value your safety and respect. They should be also accountable for our time and medical bill for emergency and we also be planning to file a law suit if needed. I have the hospital bill handy I have tried contsct you and you are failing to respond. And I if I don't hear you back by August 18 I will file the hospital bill...

Visited this place while picking up my friend at Dulles Airport - Google Review for Dhamaka Dosa at Dhamaka Restaurant, DC

Dhamaka Restaurant in DC is nothing short of a culinary revelation, and their Dhamaka Dosa is a masterpiece that transcends all expectations. From the moment you step into this vibrant establishment, you are greeted with an atmosphere that is equal parts inviting and electric, perfectly setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Ambience: The ambiance strikes a harmonious balance between modern sophistication and authentic cultural flair. The warm lighting, thoughtfully curated decor, and a subtle yet invigorating hum of diners create an environment that is both intimate and energetic.

Food: The Dhamaka Dosa is, without a doubt, the pièce de résistance. The dosa arrives as a golden, crisp marvel, perfectly thin yet robust enough to cradle the symphony of flavors it houses. The fillings burst with a bold and intricate medley of spices, each bite a revelation. Accompanied by their trio of chutneys and piping hot sambhar, this dish is a culinary journey to the heart of South India. The balance of textures and flavors is unparalleled—a true testament to the chef’s expertise.

Service: What truly elevates the experience is the exceptional service, led by a lady who exemplifies the epitome of hospitality. Her attentiveness, genuine warmth, and effortless charm make every guest feel like a VIP. She anticipates needs before they arise, offers insightful recommendations, and seamlessly creates a dining experience that is both personal and professional. Her dedication to ensuring every diner leaves with a smile is rare and commendable.

Overall Experience: Dhamaka Restaurant has set a new standard for Indian cuisine in DC. The impeccable service, extraordinary food, and captivating ambiance create a symphony of excellence that is unmatched. Whether you are a seasoned lover of Indian cuisine or a curious first-timer, this is a gastronomic experience you cannot afford to miss.

Highly recommended and worth every moment! Five stars are not enough to capture the brilliance of this...

Worst experience ever in the early morning at 7.30 am at your restaurant. I hate writing reviews but this one goes for you guys. The server in the front tells me that they aren’t opened yet at 7.30 am when it says 7.00 am opening time on the internet. I was on my schedule to work. Waited for 5 mins more when the server insists that it will take another 15 minutes which made me feel that the restaurant wasn’t interested in doing business today. When asked for a manager or owner the server let me in just to sit and take a look at the menu. Just randomly ordered a uttampam as it was already late. The server takes the order goes to the kitchen and comes out in 15 minutes only to inform that it would take another 10 -15 minutes more. It was already 8.00 am. Why the hell would you mention on internet it’s 7.00 am opening time when your business opens at 8.00 am. Are you fooling around with people’s time? Later I realized the server was trying to cover the cook/staff who walked in at 7.50 am. Hey “ owner’s “just a feedback I have seen restaurants go out of business just because of cooks inability to perform/egoistic attitude or servers bad attitude to serve. Get the right guys to do the right job. Millions lined up in queues for jobs or work. Hey staff if you can’t work simply make way for new staff. Let others work who are in need of jobs and get the best out of them. The signboard wasn’t open until 7.50 am today. Hey server don’t inform your early customers there is a technical problem in the kitchen that’s why it’s not opened yet as you did today. It’s a layman’s excuse. Frustrating experience ever when someone has to wait for almost an hour for breakfast. I would rather prefer nearby restaurant named “ The Breakfast Club” which opens it doors practically at 8.00 am. ...
