If you're looking for service.....you came to the WRONG place!
This was our first visit to this Anna Maria's and based on our experience of 06/05/13 it will be our last. We arrived around 6:40p and joined part of our family that had already been waiting approximately 10 minutes. We finally figured out the reason no wait staff had taken our order.....you're supposed to place your order at a staffed terminal that's located at the end of the counter that separates the dining area from the food prep area. The members of the family that had arrived before us placed their order and then we placed ours.....the ticket (oh, I forgot the tell you, you pay in full before you get full), printed out at 6:52pm. My wife ordered a steak & cheese sandwich and asked the order clerk to hold the onions and she ordered a soda. The clerk then asked me what I wanted and I then told her I'd like to have the cheese calzone and water; she then asked me if I wanted anything on the calzone and I told her "no, just the plain $4.99 calzone would be fine. We paid the ticket, obtained our respective beverages and then retired to our seats and waited for our items as ordered to be brought to us (they did have a wait person doing that). After about 20 minutes or so our orders started trickling out from behind the counter and placed at the respective patron as ordered.....that is all except, you guessed it, yours truly. I waited and waited and waited while the rest of the family partook of their bounty and I am still waiting. I finally, after having waited over 50 minutes, got up and went to the counter and informed the wait person that I had decided to cancel my order and to credit the calzone amount back to the credit card. She then informed me that it was almost ready and would be brought to me in a couple more minutes............Well, to be exact, my calzone that I had already paid for was finally brought to my table at 8:15pm. For an order to take one hour and 28 minutes before I'm served is TOTALLY unacceptable. I asked the wait person that served us if the manager was there and she informed me that he was not. She later brought me a blank service ticket with the phone number and the name Geovanni hand written and informed me that I could call the next day and speak to the manager. Due to the cavalier attitude displayed by the wait staff and lack of an attempt to reach some sort of satisfactory resolution for a very dissatisfied customer, one can only assume Geovanni will respond in like manner as well. While I was waiting for my calzone I did eat a slice of pepperoni pie and found it to be lacking as well.....stingy on the cheese, and stingy on the...
Read moreMy wife & I have tried many pizza places up & down the east coast and as far west as MO, none of which when they said they had NY style pizza actually did, until we tried Franco's Pizza. Outstanding truly New York style pizza (I should know, born & living 62 years in NY), chicken cutlet parm Hoagie, Ham and cheese Calzone, all outstanding. The garlic knots here are the best we ever had, not overcooked or under cooked and not drowned in oil or garlic, a perfect balance of garlic, oil and cooked to perfection which most pizza shops are not able to do. One must remember food is to ones personal taste, but being from the country in NY all my life until now, I feel I know what NY style pizza is, and Franco's is the first pizza joint out of NY that has TRUE NY style pizza. The deserts are very good also, and the onion rings are great. Honestly we have not had anything here we were not happy with, even the owner and employees there are all very friendly. The young man there that seems to be the one to do most of the pizza cooking does a great job, perfectly cooked every time, lots of sauce, and cheese right up to the edge. I can not say enough good things about this place and am so happy we found it. I was not paid for this post, I don't know any of the people that work there personally, we were staying just down the road from them, we love Italian food & are so glad to find them. Thank you Franco's for doing a fantastic job! I am not friends with anyone in this business and was not compensated for this...
Read moreI usually always get Franco’s but lately they have seemed to have fallen off and gotten higher. The pizza 2 weeks ago was cooked wayyyy too long but oh well i took that loss and didn’t eat the crust. However, the reason I’m posting is because I ordered last night nothing major standard pizza and some ranch. I noticed the ranch was a little looser than normal as if they’ve tried to stretch it instead of making fresh ranch. My daughter who i bought it for specifically was upset that i let it touch her pizza n didn’t eat her pizza because the ranch tasted funny. I then ate my pizza with ranch. Yes it had a watery consistency and you could tell it wasn’t bottled because it had like a sewer after taste. My son was the only one who didn’t eat the ranch. Long story short, i ended up with food poisoning and sick as a dog around 2am and that was all i had eaten the rest of the evening.. It took me until today around 7pm to gather myself and after ordering a get well care package through Instacart. Shortly after that my daughter is now sick with the same symptoms now so I’m gearing up for part 2 with my toddler.
This really saddens me because i really enjoyed Franco’s at one time but i can’t take that chance again...
