Ruby Tuesday — Restaurant in Mebane

This is regarding the Mebane NC location. My fiance and I came to this location last night and tonight. (August 21 and 22 2025). Last night, we came in, was greeted by the hostess (with glasses, short young black girl, didn't get her name as I couldn't see name tag), she asked if we wanted a table or booth, so we said booth. She sat us down and so we wait for a server. Not long after we sat down, another party of 3, might been 4 people sat down across from us. After about 10-15 minutes, the server comes and greets the other party first before finally greeting us. We didn't say anything of course as I don't like confrontations so we let it be. Food was good, I ordered just the salad and my fiance ordered a steak. The server focused more on the other party however, it seemed like. We ate our food, paid for meal and left. We decided to come back tonight, (the 22nd) again. I'm not sure what happened from last night and tonight but when we went tonight, the same hostess from last night just looks at us, didn't ask this time if we wanted a table or booth. Takes us right over to the bar section and sits us down in a booth. Mind you, we are right beside the bar, that is full of other patrons. The hostess starts coming our way and I stopped her for a second. She seemed like she was bothered, rolled her eyes. I asked if we could be seated at another booth or table in a quieter area as I am deaf with a cochlear implant. The noise level was just too much next to the bar, as I expected with it being Friday night. The hostsess says "um I guess I can look" or something to that affect and walks off. We waited for her to quickly come back before the server, and she never returns. She then finally comes around but completely walks right passed us, doesn't even say a word. She walked past us like 5 times during our meal. It would be one thing if she just simply let us know something. Right before we left, the side on the right as you come in, was filling up with other people. I just felt that her attitude was unprofessional and she didn't even bother and didn't want to be bothered trying to assist a deaf customer. Our server tonight was awesome tho! She was very friendly and had a happy attitude. Food was good as well. I didn't realize the Burlington, NC location is closed obviously for good, otherwise we would go there. We spent about 120.00 for our meals for both nights and I would have to say perhaps the employees need...

I have been a fan of Ruby Tuesday for a long time, but this is my last visit to this restaurant. It was undoubtedly one of the worst dining experiences if my life! After we had been seated for a few minutes, we asked our server if they could turn up the heat. She informed us that the heat was broken (it was 41 degrees outside). We should have left then, but we didn't. In many respects, what happened after that was at least partly on us.

1. I ordered the salad bar with my meal. When I went up to serve my plate, I was shocked to see the worst stocked salad bar imaginable. Several of the vegetables were almost empty and what was there was frozen the the serving plates (cucumbers, green peppers, mushrooms had to be scraped off of the serving plates) and serving utensils were missing out of at least four salad items. In addition, several normal condiments, such as the potato salad, tuna salad and bacon bits were not even offered.
2. We ordered the shrimp fondue appetizer. What came out tasted more like a cheap, frozen cheese-like dip that had been reheated in the microwave. I say cheese-like because it looked like it might have cheese in it, but it didn't taste that way. It tasted more like the broth from a canned chowder soup mix.
3. My wife ordered salmon with a baked potato. When served, the potato was not warm enough to melt the butter! (This could have been the result of the falling temperature in the restaurant)
4. I ordered Fish and Chips. The fish was mushy, which probably means it was cooked while still frozen. Frozen fried fish out of the grocery store would have tasted better. When I asked about condiments for the fish, they had nothing except ketchup.
5. The entire process took over an hour from placing our orders until we finally gave up and sought the warmth of our car. The one redeeming grace of the meal was our server. She was cordial and tried hard to make the best of an otherwise untenable situation. One or two of these mistakes could be forgivable, but the totality of our experience tells me that the management of this restaurant doesn’t really care about their customers or the quality of what they serve. I ordered online for curbside pickup not walk-in pickup! My food was supposed to be ready by 6:46 p.m. and I already knew it wasn’t going to be ready by that time so I gave it an extra 10 to 15 min! I get to the restaurant park in curbside, call the number no answer, a lady that works there walks out but no food in her hand so I’m thinking she’s going to tell me my order is going to take a little longer but no she walks past my car, I guess she was just on break! I call the number again no answer so I go in to the bar, they’re a little busy so the lady says she’ll be with me in a moment! Minutes later she asks me what I want and I tell her I have a pickup order and she says it’s not ready, I see there are two bags on a table nearby which she doesn’t even check to see if one is mines or not so I continue to wait and wait then a good fifteen minutes passes by a lady walks in she’s there for her pickup order the lady actually walks to table to check the orders and she hands her the food then says what’s your name again and I tell her and she’s like oh this is your order! My food was sitting on that table getting cold then to top it off my two baked potatoes were not in the bag (shocker) then I ask the lady for some A1 and 57 sauce since there was none in the bag! Then another girl hands me the sauce then I tell her I’m missing my loaded baked potatoes and she says oh I was looking for you before I went to the bathroom to let you know that the baked potatoes were still in the oven! Like wtf I’ve been sitting there for over 20 minutes waiting while my bag was on the table getting cold and y’all are just now putting my potatoes in the oven and I believe the girl says that the woman who got her food before me was getting my potatoes or something like that! Are you freaking kidding me all this time I’ve been waiting and I was about to have a panic attack because I hate being around people as it is and to have to sit at a bar surrounded by people my social anxiety was getting to me! That’s why I ordered curbside so I wouldn’t have to go in but apparently they don’t how to answer the freaking phone! My meal should have been free for the 45 minute wait and cold...
