Hibachi — Restaurant in Mebane

Hibachi SteakHouse Express is conveniently located not far from Tanger Outlet in Mebane. We always stop in to eat after shopping. You place your order at the register, and you let them know whether you would like to dine in and sit to eat, or do take out. What amazes me is the customer service because they remember faces and they remember orders! They remember how I like my filet mignon cooked and always cooked it at the right temperature. Most places I've been too does not cook my steak like how I wanted it. With Hibachi SteakHouse Express, I know my order will be cooked like how I want it.

From the window you can see your food as it gets prepared. Their fried rice is to die for! I can eat a whole plate of fried rice. I usually order the Filet and Shrimp. The shrimp is jumbo size, which is a lot bigger than most hibachi places I've been too. All of the entree portions comes with zucchini and onions. I also would recommend the Vegetarian plate, or the Steak and Chicken. The Scallop and Shrimp is just as good when you dip it in their house made sauces. The cream sauce is perfect for dipping seafood. I personally love love love their mustard sauce, with that I dip my veggies and shrimp. The ginger sauce has a unique taste to it and they actually use fresh ginger in making their well known Ginger Sauce. I use ginger sauce with my steak. You get a very large portion of food and I never could finish my plate, and I end up boxing it up and take it home.

The prices are very reasonable and it is affordable. I've taken some of my coworkers from Durham and they were all impressed with the price and said it was worth the extra drive.

I was looking for a dine in Japanese restaurant to go to after class & I found reviews for this restaurant that were really positive. I decided to try them out & I am so glad I did. When I walked in I was greeted with respect, ordering was smooth, & the best part is that the wait staff brings your food to you no matter if you’re dinning in or taking your meal to go. I was even given the explanation of which sauces were which. My food was made fresh & very flavorful. Then I went to the restroom, (which was a plus not all places have a public restroom) & the restroom was so very clean & smelled amazing. While sitting down enjoying my meal I realized that they have a big loyal customer base & everyone was treated the same way. They’ve earned another loyal customer, just all around amazing.

Been coming here for nearly a decade since the pricing and most importantly the food was so good compared to anywhere else. Over the years as prices went up and the items started disappearing (no more soup & salad included, free white sauce) it was still worth it for the hibachi quantity AND quality. Now the quantity you receive is consistently less, especially the rice. I buy 2 hibachi meals and can put them into a single to-go container now easily, before it was fresh made and heaping fried rice and plenty to save for the next day's lunch.
