Edit: I changed from one to three stars because I love this place just not the manager. Security staff and bartenders are great and really know how to do their job. The last few times I would have given it four or five stars. But after dealing with having three of my completely full drinks thrown away by security and then trying to talk to the management about it in an extremely calm manner completely without any type of curse words, or even any anger, the owner decided to try to curse me out for leaving my drinks unattended. I get if you have to deal with drunk people all the time, but you should be able to discern a nice person that got almost all of their drinks thrown away talking in a calm manner and not being mad from your rowdy crowd that are drunk. I drink my drinks slow on purpose. There is no need to exacerbate an issue that wasn’t even occurring. I explained that I was playing pool and that I can’t shoot pool with a drink in my hand. They were very adamant when making sure that I knew that they have signs in place that say that you cannot leave drinks unattended. I told them that there are 20+people in the pool hall and all of their drinks are out and unattended but only mine were thrown away. Most of theirs were beers so maybe that is why but why be angry with somebody that has Long Island iced teas that are worth a lot more. I tried to explain to him that I am extremely calm I am here on military duty/law enforcement so I understand their policy of not wanting drinks unattended. I just wanted a comp or a re-make. They literally didn’t even let me close my tab I really did think that this place was pretty cool, but wandering if me and my people will return. It was my go to place whenever I’m in the area. and no the $30 does not comp your rudeness and disrespect towards somebody talking stupidly calm and respectful to you Quite literally the most rude and obnoxious management that I’ve ever experienced. Except for taking drinks that are completely full for less than two minutes of them being out while you’re shooting pool the security is actually really amazing. They really do a great job managing the crowd and keeping the patrons safe and keeping the place in a nice state I actually really like the security there but the management...
Read moreWe do NOT recommend this place. We had high hopes but should of know that 4 cars in the parking lot on a Saturday dinner evening was our first clue. The cheese fries were decent as was the Buffalo dip. Took forever to get drink refills so I went to the hostess since I didn’t see the waitress anywhere and asked her if we could get some refills, plates and ranch(since she wasn’t doing anything but standing there) and she looked at me and said “I don’t do that(very snobbish).” Then I think my facial expressions said it all and she said “I’ll get your waitress to do it.” Never again just based off their customer service. There also were 3 people behind the bar doing nothing but laughing and joking. While the waitress had the on 4 tables without help. The struggle was real. Now on the the food. My wife and I ordered the chicken Philly cheesesteak and we took two bites of it and couldn’t. The chicken tasted boiled with no seasoning. We tried to add salt and pepper for the second bite as it was less than desirable. Our kids had the chicken parmesan and the chicken was so dry and not seasoned at all. The noodles were cooked properly but the sauce was not good at all and cold. They took a couple of bites and couldn’t stomach it. I tried it and was highly disappointed. The people behind us waited probably 10 mins just to get their check. (Only 4 tables were occupied) $120 for four people down the drain for a birthday dinner she chose to come here. Like I said we had high hopes for this restaurant in hopes to find a new place to go in our small town since Calabash closed and it was extremely disappointing. Normally we would give a place two chances however the customer service was horrendous so they will not receive our business again. Hopefully the owner of the place sees this cause this place will probably shut down in the near future. Maybe something actually good will move in! I’m convinced only friends or family are leaving good reviews. Or just drunks that...
Read moreI would like to say I enjoyed it. But I can't!! It was suppose to open at 11 am, we arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon and there was a paper sign on the door saying they would be opening at 4 pm. The parking lot area was not well maintain. Not a good start. It is a new place and maybe they haven't found their way yet. Our server was a sweet young lady and was good. But they did not have enough servers for even the small amount of people that were there, it was a Wednesday. I order a mix drink, and I can say I never tasted any alcohol in it at all. It was happy hour, so may be they make them weaker for that. The food was ok, but sandwich's were very small, somewhat cold and lack much taste. Also the cost for what you got was way to high. How do you get a Bar b cue sandwich with no sauce? They booth were small, we are average people and there was just very little room, and none of the booths were sitting up higher so that would make it in possible for older people to be able to get up from. Other than the booths all they had were metal bar stools, with no backs or cushions. I wanted to try it, to see if my handicap husband would be able to eat there, but he would never be able to find any seating in this place, that he could get up from with his bad back. The floors were clean, but who ever had mopped them had left soap on them so you sounded like a squeaky toy walking across them. I really was hoping that it was a great restaurant. But I have to say I will not be going back. There are too many other places to eat in Mechanicsville. I do wish them luck it is a great location, and could be so much more than just...
