Sorry excuse for a sandwich shop. It doesn’t matter how good the food is … if you don’t care about your customers. We walked in to an empty shop about the size of a shoebox. Waited a few minutes and a woman finally appeared. Took our order, while she struggled to find the items to ring up. There is one little bench, which is thoughtless if you run a take out only establishment. They had bags of flour stacked and other stuff wasting space. So we awkwardly waited in the corner. Others arrived waiting for the orders. It was some what amusing watching the lady ask each person if “is this your order?” We waited. And waited. And waited. We went outside as it was getting crowded with people waiting. 30 minutes later(!) she comes out … with the wrong order. We ordered two sandwiches and they couldn’t get that right. We asked for a refund, which they gave, but without any apology or “can we make it right” or asking what went wrong … just gruff. News flash owners of Crumb - customer service matters. Doesn’t matter how good your food is … if you have thoughtless customer service it ruins the entire experience. Seems like they are experts on preparing bread, totally lost on customer service. Maybe they think they’re so good, it doesn’t matter. Not true. Egos destroy businesses. And businesses run like this one never last. Advice to Crumb owners/management: get your team together at each location to discuss customer service pain points. Then make a plan to fix those. Train your staff to focus on customer service (for example if there will be a 30 min wait for a sandwich have them tell the customer that to start. You may lose a sale but you gain customers respect and turn it into an opportunity to educate the customer to call ahead )
I love how you didn’t address anything l wrote. This experience happened early 2024. I found it in my notes on my phone and decided to post so other people don’t have the same experience. Clearly...
Read moreFirst off, customer service is good! They are very nice and they will put takeout in your own containers. Thank you for supporting sustainability! I know others really like it here, but I've been turned off by both sandwiches I've had. I got the vegetarian mushroom sandwich- SO greasy 🤢, and the Morocco sandwich- the way the eggplant is prepared makes it look like dog food and it was stringy and slimy. I usually love eggplant, I was not expecting this. Maybe they do better with all their meat sandwiches but I can't recommend this place to vegans/vegetarians. I really appreciate that they have options but they just weren't quality imo. I would consider going back one more time to try the vegan salad and the mushroom soup, but i am already worried about the soup because i see multiple bad reviews already... If ever new vegan sandwiches are added i will still continue to try them, to support...
Read moreHeard amazing things about this place so I thought I’d grab lunch for myself and my friend. Placed an order and the girl was nice enough and said 15 mins. Food was ready in just that amount of time. The Skouf and the King were both delicious and would order though again but the potato salad, I couldn’t even eat two bites. It tasted like my mouth was being assaulted by garlic. You do get a very decent portion for the price but oi vey, the garlic just was too much. For $40 for 2 sandwiches, potato salad, and a bag of chips is also a bit crazy, but it is...
