I originally rated this Pita Pit 5 starts back in July after going there every Wednesday since April after my Son’s karate class. Since that rating in July I had experienced some issues that I thought were one off issues at the time (called in/app orders being incorrect and missing items, etc.). As of tonight I have realized that this is not true. There has been a significant decline in the quality of service at the establishment. Let me share my experience tonight. At 7:16 PM I called in a to go order, the first thing out of the ladies mouth after I asked for that was “we stop delivery orders at 7:30” and I responded by explaining I was only a few blocks away near the north Fred Meyer off of Poplar. She said “That will be okay I guess”. I then proceeded to place my order and started with my 5 year old son’s favorite of a little turkey with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, olives and pickles as well as the standard cheese and sauces (yes I have a 5 year old that loves vegies). She immediately said that they could not do that, that I only get one additional item on the little turkey (mind you we ordered the exact same thing in person 2 weeks ago and over the phone for delivery the weekend before). I explained that we have always ordered it this way and she said that the policy was only the one additional item after the lettuce. I understand the policy personally, but instead of saying something like the little turkey only comes with 1 item but I could do a small pita for $XX more she just shut me down. I asked to get her owners information and she said she could not give that but that I could call the store tomorrow. I asked when the owner would be in and she said that the owner doesn’t come into the store. I mentioned that I had been coming to Pita Pit for quite a while and that I had met the owner multiple times in the store working with the employees in both Grants Pass and Medford. I also had met the owner once at my daughter’s school because they both went to Saint Mary’s. She said that they were under new ownership after about 3 months ago and it is much more corporate now and that she was afraid of being fired. My issue around the quality is this (I have managed restaurants and retail establishments) and this establishment has fundamentally changed their culture and customer experience. An organization should teach their associates to not initially say NO over and over (the delivery timing then the pita) but instead say there is what we can do for this price. I will no longer support Pita Pit in Southern Oregon and I will share...
Read moreNew Review: Order what you want and they'll give you what they want to give you... Went there today 9/4/25 and I ordered no tomatoes and cucumbers and didn't want a combo and the chick gave me exactly what I didn't want. Only thing she got right this time was I got the food faster because it was dead inside. As much as having a pita sounds appealing, I will not be coming back for a very long time.
Old Review: 3 months ago I gave this place a 5 star rating. Based off the last handful of times I have been there, I can only give it a 3 star review. The food is good, but the service is terrible!
My experience yesterday was cringe at best. There appears to be 2 people working and 1 can only work on 1 order at a time while the other is there one minute, and gone for the next handful of minutes. I did a to go order in the app and then went in the store and bought something as well and by the time my online /app order was ready, I had only gotten my in store order and then almost 20 minutes later after that is when my to go order was made. There was a mistake that I caught watching the worker make it because they added cheese when it clearly said no cheese.
I have noticed that tipping and not tipping doesn't make a difference with how they prepare your order or if they feel like speeding up your order. So, you're better off not tipping than tipping.
Customer service skills are lacking severely here! I was never apologized to for them taking forever to do my online order. The worker who rings me up for the in store order at the time of payment for a card payment leaves for like 5 minutes leaving me wondering if my order went through or not. Then there was an older guy who came in that was standing at the register for over 5 minutes and none of the 2 workers ever acknowledged him! At least say, "I'll be with you in a sec." Or the workers should communicate with one another where 1 gets the order and the other finishes the orders. There was a guy that came in for a to go order as well and it was clearly late as well... And the worker nearly stiffed him on his side of shug sauce that he ordered on the side. The interaction with the worker was cringe. They basically didn't say sorry and walked over and put some in a ramekin and the customer was happy.
Best to order to go and pick up 10-15 minutes after the expected time with no tip. But do check what you got before leaving or you might...
Read moreLots of problems in the last few months since the new owner but this, this was too much and so bizarre. DO BETTER! Super sad to say that one of my favorite, go to, quick lunch joints is now one of the worst places in town. Besides the horrible treatment I got from the manager, who come to find out is the owner's daughter. The owner also did not find a problem Or offer any productive solutions to the fact that, my husband and I did not receive the day before instead we found locked doors And was screamed at about not being underatanding instead of given a refund or even my food i waited very patiently for. He told me he was unable to offer a refund at the time. Now the day AFTER that i asked him about my refund again. After a disgruntled text exchange, he texted me to come Pick up an envelope at the store with my name on it for my refund. I refused, at that point I had spent an hour and a half the first day waiting for my food and then getting screamed at by his daughter"manager", Then an hour the following day waiting around after my full work day for an hour with 2 cunfused and frustrated Employees and a health Inspector(whom also waited more than an hour for the owner) that was pretty baffled by what he had heard from multiple people that day. A bunch of nonsence HR style texts later he then said i had to go get my refund. two days and a good 5 hours later? I get paid $40 an hour so am i getting $226 for my food and time!? Now I see, the owner is also trying to dismiss other customers instead of apologizing for his horrible management skills and running a once thriving, Wonderful business right into the ground. Not on the owners behalf but as a resepctful human being; Sorry to all the Pita Pit lovers! This owner does not care about his business let alone his customers. I have worked many places that had more than one employee with family emergency issues where we had to shut the place down, resectfully for the day. Never once in my 25 plus years in the Costumers service industry have ever seen anything As bad as this. To the owner: seriously do better or...
