CORE VALUES OF HOBBY LOBBY "Honoring the Lord in all we do by operating in a manner consistent with Biblical principles."
Knowing their core values (as noted above), I felt compelled to write this review and point out the fact that this store and the behavior of their staff fail to align with these core values.
The shopping experience at Hobby Lobby is never the most enjoyable anyway because, for whatever reason, they choose to do the bulk of their restocking during normal business hours, and every time I'm there I find tons of boxes throughout the store and aisles blocked off. This is not only annoying, but it leads to customers being burdened by constantly having to move boxes out of the way in order to get to the shelves.
During a recent visit, I needed an item from a high shelf, so I asked a nearby store associate to assist me in reaching down the item. The associate slammed down the box she was holding in a passive-agressive attempt to prove she was annoyed by me asking her to actually do her job of assisting a customer. Since, of course, there were boxes stacked in front of the shelf, I shoved one over to make it easier for her to get closer to the shelf. She then snapped at me, in an extremely loud tone, that she was able to reach the item without any boxes being moved. I was appalled by her behavior. I immediately went up front and asked to speak to the store manager, shocked by the fact that management would allow employees like this to even be in a customer service position. It's obvious that a) employees are not being properly trained, b) employees have a pattern of acting rudely to employees without receiving consequences, so they continue to act in such a manner, or c) management could care less about who they employ.
Whichever the case, it falls directly into the hands of management and lack of. Being in managerial roles myself, I understand the importance of strong management. The overall efficiency of any business begins at the top, and without a good manager, your team and your...
Read moreUpon going to Hobby Lobby, I noticed 50% off almost everything, wow what a day to go! My excitement was very short lived, when I saw regular prices, to me this was a junk sale on many products. To think a sale price is also based on a item with a outrageous original price.Clay planters, everyone cracked or excessively chipped, so wonder half off, plant stands, that were uneven and not safe. Further looking at merchandise with a cart, as 2 employees take my cart. The employees did return the cart, when I told them I was using said cart, they did apologize. I asked for help to buy merchandise stored in a back room, only problem, the employees at first didn't know, where it was. I didn't have to wait, to long however, he said I think this is the right box. I am happy to say, it was, but not knowing for sure, huh, you work here, he couldn't even read the sku# This store is for rich people, not a average working customer. I can say, if you look, long enough you can find some really great deals, thus...
