I recently had a terrible experience at my local Sonic, and as someone who works in the food industry, I can sympathize, & somewhat understand how things can go wrong, and how it may be a stressful environment at the time. However, this particular incident left me extremely disappointed and frustrated.
After finishing my long shift at my job, I decided to swing by Sonic about 15 minutes before closing time. I ordered two combo meals, expecting the usual default side of French fries. To my surprise, when I received my order, it came with tater tots instead. This left me a tad confused as I didn’t order or ask for tater tots. Now, I understand that mistakes happen, but it's the way the situation was handled that truly disappointed me.
I had respectfully informed the lady working at the drive-through window that I hadn't ordered tater tots, & wanted fries. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and offering a potential solution, she responded in an extremely rude manner. She basically told me that I didn't specifically say/order fries with my meal and essentially said, "tough luck." Her lack of empathy and professionalism was truly disheartening.
In my experience, majority 99.9% of fast food places default to French fries with their combos. It's (I think) common knowledge, unless stated otherwise, which it wasn’t- and she didn’t specify. However, this employee seemed to have no interest in providing good customer service or rectifying the mistake.
Despite my polite explanation that I wasn't a fan of tater tots and would, and thought, I ordered fries, she simply didn't care. She shut the drive-through window on me, and that was it. Extremely poor customer service.

We probably should have checked if it was right, but it isn't just that we got almost nothing we asked for. We received A burger with everyone on it that was COLD through and through patty and all not even the wrapper had any sort of heat, ONE fry that was Luke warm at top but cold at the bottom, and 2 chicken wraps with nothing but a piece of chicken and sauce. Only thing we got right and that was enjoyable was our soda. I'm not typically one to complain and I understand how frustrating food service is. But being the only people there aside from 2 dine ins and considering how cold our food was, I just couldn't see what happened aside from short staffed? Doesn't excuse my food being colder than room tempature. I would have gone and gotten it fixed but I live to far away and have things I need to do out of that way.

I had to call them and say what they did and he started to argue with me if you didnt have pretzel buns then why didnt you say it if i ask for just onion and mustard why was there a lot of relish to the point it was soggy and ketchup. They put a lot of wet chili on the other order and by the time we got home (less than 2 miles away) the whole bread was soaked and ruined. We went through the drive thru and no one answered so we started pulling away and seen a worker and she said they were still open so went back through then finally someone answered which no one was in line so there was no excuse they were busy.
