Del Taco — Restaurant in Medford

(update to 3 star rating and review below) Both my wife and I got food poisoning from the beef tacos... Changed rating to a 2 star.

The food was great. Exactly what I expected. This location was clean and well kept.

The guy making the food did a great job and had very good communication skills. Oddly he was the only one. Everyone else there had very poor customer service and communication skills. The lady taking my order for some reason was only able to press buttons (and took forever to do so) or listen to what I was asking for. I had to repeat my order to her 3 times and still correct her, lol.

When we went to get ice for our drink, there was none and I let the lady know, I heard her tell her one of the other staff (a guy with bleach blonde hair) and I watched him ignore her. We were almost done eating while waiting for ice and she came out and started cleaning, so I kindly reminded her that there was no ice. She asked the same guy to put ice in there and he just in turn said he needed her to do it. There's no way she could have because she's about 5' tall and the ice machine/soda machine is about 8' tall. She had to ask a staff member who was on lunch to do it.

I later overheard the same guy arguing with her about something. All in all, the staff here were very unprofessional, and the manager was there the whole time. In my opinion, the dude making the food would be better suited to run this location and should...

Recently I found Del Tacos new Crispy Chicken Ranch Tacos. They are fabulous and all of my family loves them. When I go, I grab 20, and my daughter grabs 20 for her family. Normally, other than being shorted a couple once in a while, they've always been good. Today's order was not. We got home, and started eating, and I was instantly on fire! Once I could breathe again, I tried another one. MISTAKE!! These things were so spicy I swear I couldn't breathe. I called the restaurant and a young lady answered. I explained who I was and that I'd come through the drive thru. She got excited and said yes! I made your 20 habanero tacos for you! And I said yes, except they weren't supposed to be habanero. I actually ordered 20 crispy chicken ranch tacos. Instantly her attitude changed, and she got cold. She said we'll replace the order. She never apologized or anything. Didn't even ask me my name, nothing. She stopped talking. I finally said well, my name is September, and it'll probably take me about 15 minutes to get back there. She said ok, and hung up. I was never rude or angry. I didn't treat her or anyone at the restaurant with any disrespect. But I felt disrespected by her. I hope she doesn't treat anyone else like...

OMG. I cannot believe the service my family just went through at Del Taco. The cashier was in training so I gave her plenty of slack. But the manager on duty was awful. So sad that I had to put my wife and 6 year old daughter through this. The cashier made many mistakes. Charged me for a side of Jalapenos when the nachos come with it. Charged me for a big drink instead of the regular. Asked for 2 orders of 3 layer nachos and charged me for only 1 so I had to go back in line and order the other separately! I end up paying almost 3 dollars more. Regardless, she was new so I let it slide. After waiting a long time to get the food, the manager suggested to take some now and come back later for the rest. I just took the drinks and waited for the food. It never came. After 25 minutes, I asked for the money back. We never eat anything and he couldn't figure out how much to give back. All he had to do was add the 2 receipts together but he input the refund in 1 and was 3 dollars off and tried to convince me that the I was wrong. Terrible.
