Not everyone has the same days off. Or have their own personal "holidays". 2/15/2024 Day after Valentines day. Advice for businesses. Most likely, people will come the day after the holiday. Not guaranteed. But, most likely We've been coming here for about 2 years. Love their food. Love their service. Love that it's kind of a lively place. Not today. Our coordinator Called in to reserve a table..Recommended. Reception said we can come in, but, there maybe a 10 minute wait. Arrival Around 5:20 pm, from the movies. Waited. Watch says 5:55pm when they seated us. A 40 minute wait. I was confused because, there were more empty tables than people. And. There were other people waiting too. So much for the 10 minute wait. Lies. Seating. Lots of space. A lot of tables available. We were 7 people. We were with our handicapped friend. Yet, they decided to cram us at one table. Our handicapped friend had access. Good. Otherwise, it would've been a group protest to walk out. No problem with waitress. She kept checking on us,see of we were OK. She was fantastic. Thumbs up 👍. When we ordered our food, it was another wait. Watch says 8:05pm. Meaning they're closing in 55 minutes. (9pm) Not our problem. Our coordinator asked for the manager. Asked manager why the long wait, and why was the previous wait 40 minutes, after being told there's a 10 minute wait. Wait for it. Manager said,"we had to make special accommodations and/or arrangements." Wow..we never had this problem before. They would accommodate us, pull in other tables, just to.accommodate us and.our handicapped friend Yet it was, at times, standing room only. Meaning it was full house. Now mind you, there were more space and tables available, so, imagine our confusion. Especially when it's crowded. Our food would be ready. Cooked.perfect, and arrived no more than 15 minutes. Here we were waiting for an hour, yet the house was practically empty, compared to standing room only. We were appalled. Like that's total discriminatory, using my handicapped friend for an excuse of the wait time, being that, it NEVER was a problem before. You just better hope that my friend don't call the ADA. The food Ribs were burnt.Sweet potatoes loaded were burnt. They literally said there was cold coffee so, all we had to do was warm it up. My salmon was dry as the steak fries. Steak fries were dry and stale. There is a difference between freshly made fries. And fries that were just warmed up. Trust me, try it. They gave me corn instead of broccoli. One of the steaks weren't medium. It was medium well. So, I was under the impression that; because it was towards closing time, it's clean up time. Meaning; They weren't about to fire up the burners, or the stoves, the warmers or what so ever. They were making efforts towards clean up time and, wasn't about to dirty up the kitchen again, iinstead of accommodating their bread winners. . So, they did the whole "given the dog a bone", treatment. Meaning, they gave us the throw away food. I mean, that's what it seemed like. The only thing fresh there was the dinner rolls, the cinnamon butter &, my beer. Very, very disappointing. Verrly lowly recommended. 2 thumbs down 👎👎 I give them an ugly Halloween mask for their ugly face. Make sure you're a pig or a dog because, at leat your meal ticket would be free. Change your name to Texas Roadkill. Because you literally throw people under the bus. And, then some. Feel like Roadkill? Come here after 6pm & not crowded, compared to a standing room only full house....
Read moreCelebrated my birthday here for the second time, and I'll Get the negative out of the way first. Both times I have celebrated my birthday here, I have indicated so when I set the reserved seating, when we arrived and also when being seated and neither time was there staff singing for me, as I heard with many tables both occurrences. Does this need to be specifically requested? It's my birthday, the one day a year I like to feel special and get attention. I will debate in the future where to celebrate my birthday upon where a big deal is made, even for just a moment.
Onto the positive... when I called for the call ahead seating this time, a table was described to me where we would all be sitting together, and I described back what I believed he was taking about, a long table in the middle/south part of the seating area where we all sat last time and it was perfect. When we arrived, they attempted to put 13 of us into 2 booths at the SE side of the seating. I'm not usually a Karen but I said no way and our waitress got a manager. HE. WAS. AMAZING! We were quickly sat at the north side of the bar seating area and everything went awesome after that. The food was all fresh and plentiful, we never had to ask for refills, our server was on top of it all! I've been here a few times before, not just for my birthday and like some places it can be hit or miss, but it's usually more hit than miss. The fried pickles were extremely salty when they usually aren't, and one other time my chicken was old or something, but for how often I've been there, they have a darn good track record! Other than the me obviously making a big deal out of my birthday and no song, I definitely recommend Texas Roadhouse for any gathering, celebration, or if people are visiting, or hell, when it's just a Wednesday! They have an awesome crew working for them and I hope the bosses keep em happy. The manager did send a strawberry cheesecake at the end to make up for the beginning snafu, but being allergic to strawberries, I put forks out and shared it with the table. That was really sweet to do tho! It was my 46th bday so I might not have a big gathering like that til my 50th, if I make it that far, so I'll definitely plan...
Read moreThis is one of my go-to places. However, last week was a total letdown. It was freaking packed, like, sardines in a can. And the air? Forget about it. No fans, no AC, nothing...at least thats how it seemed. It was hot, sticky, and the air was just… there. You could smell everyone more than the food that was being prepared, which was a real bummer. We were there at the table for about 30 minutes before we were able to order our drinks. Once the waitress came back with drinks we were ready to order. It took around 45 minites to get our appetizers (only ordered 2 items from the appetizers). Took roughly an hour to hour and a half to get our meals. We were finally served our meals after almost 2 hours of being seated at the table. The steak was way overdone, burnt and hard around the edges. The shrimp was rubbery, over seasoned (and not in a good way), overcooked, and cold when it got to the table 😖. The mac and cheese? Oh, the mac and cheese. 🥺 It looked like the noodles sat in the strainer for a bit before being put into the serving dish. They were just a ball of noodles just stuck together. There was an attempt to drizzle some sauce on top, I guess... Seriously, there were bare dry noodles everywhere! It was drier than the Sahara desert. Mac and cheese looking like a old dried up 2 bit "Lady of the night". A three-year-old could've made better instant mac and cheese in the microwave. Then, half way through our meal. At the other end of our table, the light above the table went out! Half our group was eating in the dark. Not one person even came over to check it out. No fix, no temporary solution, not a nothing. My husband and I decided to depart our group of 8 early due to my onset of discomfort from the meal, and unfortunately, I got sick upon my return home. I'm really bummed out about the dining experience we had. It just didn't live up to our normal expectations of the establishment from our pervious visits here. The food wasn't even average, and the service was a bit disappointing. It's such a shame because this place is generally one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning...
