Refuge Ale House — Restaurant in Medicine Park

The Refuge is my favorite place I have ever been. While living in Wichita Falls for military escaping to Medicine Park and The Refuge was like going to another world. The owner Joel is incredible, great staff, amazing atmosphere. While the town is charming on all my visits I was only looking forward to The Refuge. Munching on cheese from across the street and drinking a flight of interesting beer is a highlight of my last few years. As much as I missed my wife and my training was boring, now that I’m gone I still find myself missing The Refuge being so close. I can’t give anywhere a more glowing review. This is one of the coolest bars I have had the pleasure to visit! I was really impressed by the size of the place, it gave us plenty to explore and see. How they managed to stick a bunch of containers together to create a unique environment was impressive. However, what really sold me on the place was the service. Taylor was super nice, answered all our questions, gave us some samples and gave us solid recommendations. Highly recommend! Bartender was so helpful and friendly! They have a great selection of beers, ciders, wines and non alcohol drinks. Great Food downstairs and then yummy flavored popcorn store downstairs also, parmesan cheese was our favorite for the night. Such a quaint setting.
