Replying to @👩🏻‍🦰Wynifred Wizenas The Medicine Park Aquarium is one of Oklahoma’s coolest hidden gems. From alligator gar and catfish to snakes, turtles, and even hissing cockroaches you can hold, It’s packed with wildlife found right here in Oklahoma. Plus, the outdoor exhibits and Wichita Mountain views make it even better. #MedicineParkAquarium #MedicineParkOK #ExploreOklahoma #TravelOK #TownsOK

First timer here, we took our 2yr old grandbaby to see the fish. He had a great time and was obsessed with the octopus. He was fine until we got to the giant blue catfish that have almost fake looking eyes. One of them locked eyes with him and he got scared, and after that he was done haha! We went outside to see the other animals: One otter, one coyote. They need others in their habitat, y'all. They get lonely. There were two bobcats, but only managed to see one. I got no pictures of the inside because it was rather dark and to be honest, I didn't think of it until we were about to leave. Baby LOVED the quail! He also loved feeding the turtles outside. For a dollar you get peeled sweet potato and a long stick with a clothes pin attached. I would go back, if they got more outside animals. The fish were magnificent.

For the cost, it’s a fairly decent but small aquarium. Almost every tank was full and lively overall it was a great experience. The basis is native fish to our state of Oklahoma with a few exotic visitors thrown in ! The best part is the $1 waters and gatorades and then of course the bigger reptiles and the river otters towards the end of your visit IMO. There’s also a few super interesting animals sprinkled within your visit like a huge python, the giant Albino Cat Fish and an about 100 lb. alligator snapping turtle. The sculptures they have scattered around the property were also fun and interesting art. If your in Medicine Park would recommend a visit, good time for couples or families with children even really little ones as well. Probably about 1 to 2 hour maximum time to experience the whole thing.

Unprofessional, racist staff. Unfortunately we did not make it through the entrance. Upon walking through the entry to pay, my husband indicated that we need the military discount. The male employee (35-45 years old) looked at my husband and said it is for family only. He said this is my wife and my two daughters. The employee gave a disgruntled look and took an incoming phone call. When employee finished phone call he proceeded assist us. My husband said we need the military discount, employee again says it is for “family only”. At this point my hubby is angry and says “how dare you assume these aren’t my children”. We walk out and leave. My husband and I are white and our daughters are black. In this day and age and can’t believe these types of issues still exist and unfortunately we experienced it again today. I will not support this...
