We don't come here enough... my thoughts after eating here! We had the club with extra meat and I split it with my wife. Also had a cup of the bean and ham soup, probably one of my favorites... wished I had the bowl! I told my wife after receiving our food... this is like something my mom made for me. Yes, she was a good cook and made every meal at home growing up. My wife said the inside of the restaurant reminded her of my mom's house a little bit as well, a little old fashioned with a lot of pictures on the walls. Take out a wall and add a walkway and a window to the room for expansion. I was so pleased with the look of the food, as did my wife as she quickly took a slice of my sausage, it was so good and was like a kielbasa and the size of a large hotdog. Two eggs over medium (its how I like them), no runny whites. Good hashbrowns and marbled rye for toast. So good! My wife had a side of corned beef hash, more my style of a hash where it's more smooth than chunks of the beef. Very pleasant help, drinks were kept full and not too busy at 11 am on a Monday. The sign says occupancy is 50, so it's not a place I'd come to during peak hours as there is not a waiting area (they ask you to wait in your car). With that said, it's a must try place. We'll be back to try the other things on the menu, and I hope this place is in your future for dining and finding it as good as we did. And don't be alarmed by the parking out front, as there's plenty out back. There is a back door, but if you park out back walk back to the left, it'll save a...
Read moreI brought my family of 5 in for Breakfast this Sunday morning. The food wasn't bad, but serving good food is only a small part of the experience for me. The service we received was disappointing. I felt much more like an inconvenience to the establishment than a guest. With a 1 year old daughter, we were seated at a corner booth where we were told that we could not have a high chair because of the booth location. We asked another server if we could get a high chair. She said, "sure!," and went on her way. A few moments later we were met by a third server who told us we needed to move if we wanted a high chair, so we did. No big deal. I proceeded to order a BYO omelet and two of the items I wanted on my omelet were missing. I was hoping to get the missing items added on the side after the fact, but I hardly had a chance to even speak to our new server before our food was gone and we got our check. I tipped our server 20%, but I feel that I paid much more than I should have for the service. We might give this place another try when they...
Read moreThis is a cute little cafe perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. They close at 3 PM. They are open 7 days a week.
This is a small and cozy place. Everyone seems to be regulars and the wait staff seems to have been working there for a long time. They are very kind and welcoming.
I live only a few miles away and I always pass by, but I have never stopped.
One morning, I decided that my cold bowl of cereal at home was not going to cut it, so I drove down and found one of the last parking spots in the lot. It was very popular on Saturday at 8 AM.
I ordered the special that was hand-printed on a dry-erase board.
I was immediately welcomed by the owner, Peg, and the kind wait staff.
I sat at the high-top table next to a kind old man who was very friendly and chatty. I did not need to open up the novel I brought with me.
There was a nice buzz of chatter of friends and family catching up around me.
The food was delicious, plentiful, served with a smile, and affordable.
It made me happy knowing that I was supporting a...
