You lost a very loyal and long term customer. Do you want me (and others) back? Read on..
Note: I Use to eat here a lot (mainly take out) and brought to clients / friends at the office. All my out of town guests HAD to be taken here and always ask about it when they re-visit (but not now). I am not alone as there have been a few others I talked to who agree and will not go back. That is lost dividends (cash flow) to the new owner. Hope he or she fixes it as we want to come back...
What is the problem? Two things for me.
#1 You had the BEST home fries ever. They were very unique in both taste and texture. Crispy yet soft enough and never greasy. The new "sliced" potato thing is lazy and horrible in comparison. Not bad but not great or special which is why people drove to a whole in the wall joint to buy your food. In addition, the to-go box had a layer of oil / soggy potato's in the bottom making me throw away 1/3 of the potatoes on the bottom. This NEVER happened after many years under prior owners.
#2 Chicken Biscuit: The original had a light batter (perfect for what it was) that tasted like it was fried in bacon grease. It was OUT OF THE WORLD incredible....never tasted anything like it! Have eaten many of these here and was never disappointed. The "new" owners version has a thicker batter (clearly it has changed) and is more crispy. It had NO bacon flavor and almost no flavor at all (needed salt which was never the case before). What did you do with the bacon fat flavor? We do not come here when we want a healthy breakfast (that is First Turn or KeKeis). We come here when we want AMAZING tasting southern style food! You killed the flavor!
NOTE: It is fine to update and try new things on the menu to see if they sell! However, you do not change the well established "fan favs" as that is just poor business sense (or ego of a new chef who is ignorant). I know the prior owners took time to make sure the new owners kept it the same which is what made this a gold mine of a business. 90% of successful restaurants fail within 2 years after new owners mainly because the new owners change everything that worked. We do not come to Oh Biscuit for the atmosphere or the service (since you are a trailer / counter serve style place) We came for the food that IMO "was" BEST ever. Now it is just "ok" and not worth the drive or passion (buzz) that put Oh Biscuit on the map.
Please fix it!
Please FIX IT and we...
Read moreI had a family member who worked here for a brief time. Don’t be fooled. The high ratings are from a time when this place was owned by previous owners. They made food from scratch and they had great food. Not anymore! The new owners have destroyed what the previous owners built. The atmosphere is tense because the owners treat the wait staff terribly. Waitresses are hit with whisks or have food thrown on them when the owner is angry. There is a definite difference in the way women are treated by the owners. The biscuits are canned and not currently made from scratch. Food quality is mediocre. Wait staff have had their tips withheld from them so the owner can pocket the money. The absolute DRAMA that is this place will eventually overtake what used to be a Brevard County gem. These claims are not rumor and they aren’t coming from a place of malice— my family member literally worked here in this environment and watched people being mistreated before deciding to leave. The last check owed to my family member was never paid (an estimated $300-400 if given their tips). I’m guessing that check is in the same place as the tips servers have had stolen from them (the owner’s pocket). I believe people have a right to know what happens in the back of the house, as most wouldn’t want to support a place who treats their staff so horribly.
When confronted, the owner will make threats to anyone confronting them. When someone posts a negative comment, they track you down on social media and threaten legal action against you and state that telling the truth is harassment. (I fully anticipate same here). I’d steer clear of supporting a business like this. These people are unhinged and don’t deserve the position they find themselves in.
Run to PUBLIX and grab yourself some Pillsbury canned biscuits, bacon and a slice of Kraft American cheese. Heat those baby boys up and enjoy the same darn meal for a fraction of the price AND you won’t be supporting people who disrespect the people helping them...
Read moreThis review was my original review when the previous owners ran it 5 out of 5 stars. My wife and I absolutely love, love, love this place! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant setup is awesome, especially with the outdoor patio to eat your meal and enjoy some fresh air under the shaded cover.
I really enjoy how quick they are to take people's orders and move onto the next customer along with getting the food out quickly. You can tell the food is made fresh and really enjoy their homemade cinnamon rolls and bread pudding. Nothing like a fresh homemade hot cinnamon roll with icing on it.
I usually order the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. The thick bacon is cooked to perfection, nice and crunchy! They do a great job in social media communicating to any changes with their hours and posting it at the restaurant as well.
This is my recent review with the new owners 2 out of 5 stars. Since the new owners have taken over, the only positive thing they did was add more shading to the outside dining area. Unfortunately, the food does not taste like fresh homemade cooking. I never ate bread pudding before until I tried the original owners. It was so good and fresh with hot icing on it. Now it has an odd plastic taste to it and no icing.
My son used to love the cinnamon rolls but now they're bland and have no flavor. They had the best bacon, egg, cheese, biscuit sandwich but now the egg is different, almost like it's powdered eggs and the biscuit just crumble in your hand. This was my wife and I favorite date morning breakfast spot that was worth the 30-35 minute drive, unfortunately, not anymore.
The past couple visits with the new ownership, the teenage waitress staff just didn't seem friendly or welcoming. They seemed like they had attitudes and were mocking customers. Sad to see a once treasured breakfast spot...
