The old white guy with the glasses who’s going bald is an absolute racist person. We’ve eaten at this establishment a few times before. But never will we again. Not sure what was going on with the old white guy on Tuesday night when I called in my order and went to pick it up but he was very smug and asinine. I wasn’t greeted by anyone. But the white people who came in after me were. I had to wait 10 minutes for my food (although it was called in and I was told it would be a 20 minute wait). When my food was brought out by the old white man he didn’t acknowledge me. Didn’t speak. He just tossed the bag on the counter and actually started up another conversation with a white guy. When he finally did say something his only words were “Here’s your food” so I proceeded to check all of the food and to my surprise and dismay the sauces (ranch dressing, mustard & ketchup) weren’t inside of any Togo plastic containers. He just filled up the two slots on the styrofoam container with the condiments. So after he tossed the bag onto the counter the sauces all obviously spilled over onto all of the food. When I asked him if this is what’s normally done (knowing that it wasn’t) he told me “well I do have plastic containers. You want some or not?” WHY WOULD YOU NOT PUT THE SAUCES IN THE CONTAINERS IN THE FIRST PLACE? He was rude. Smug and asinine. He then walked off and the old black woman had the audacity to try to give me a total for the subpar food & service. I then got up. Told her that I’m absolutely not paying for the piss poor food and especially the piss poor service and I left. They do not respect blacks people. At all. They only want money. No way will I allow them to treat me like I don’t matter and still give them my hard earned money. They’ll never get my business again. And to my fellow black people, family & community take heed! Don’t buy where you’re not wanted. Hit racists where it hurts. In...

Memphis Trivia: Alex's is the best spot to see an out of town celebrity who wants to be local for the night.
Simply put, Alex's has amazing food in a dive bar setting, run by the best Tavern keeper around. He doesn't take no sh!t from anyone, while treating everyone who comes in like family. Cold, affordable beer and surprisingly comfortable chairs that are hard to leave when the game is on. Use your manners and tip well. Rocky will take good...
Read moreAlex's Greek burger is delicious; the beer is cold; the juke box is phenomenal. Fries and chips are both great, depending on what you're looking for. I have heard the ribs and wings are also tasty, but I only ever get the burger.
They have beer, regular domestic stuff like Bud, Coors and PBR. Just beer. If you want, you can buy a bottle of something stronger at the liquor store next door for a corkage fee (I think it's like $5, not positive). Also, they only accept cash, but there is an ATM inside with $3 fee. Not bad, really. Also, they allow smoking, so it's at least a little smokey in there most of the time.
It's a legendary burger at a legendary Memphis dive bar. You...
