For my birthday I receive coupons each year as small token of appreciation for patronizing it's businesses. On New Years Eve, I drove to my nearest Baskin Robbins location to use my birthday coupon. I waited patiently as a father of four bought special made servings of ice cream and shakes for his children. This took over 20 minutes as I stood patiently sleepy, 5 months pregnant, and at risk of preterm labor just to peacefully retrieve the ice cream that I had been offered. Once she served each child, and then tendered the gentleman his change that she had held for 20 minutes he walked over to his children. I was relieved as it was my turn to place my small and simple order. Once I got to the register, I had placed my order and told her that I had a coupon. She replied what is it for in an agressive voice. Astonished by her abrupt disposition, I responded my birthday coupon and it expires today. She clearly stated that at her location and others, that they would not be accepting coupons because all scoops of ice cream were $1.67 and that if she had given me the free ice cream that Baskin Robbins would be losing money. I said in response that wouldn't this mean that you were losing less money if the cost of ice cream was cheaper today that the coupon was covering the cost of less. The then startled cashier, stepped back and said I can go get my manager. I said no thank you, feeling tired and disappointed in her treatment and thought process I said I do not want to be made to feel as if I am begging for a free ice cream that was offered to me for my birthday through your company. My fiance then offered to buy what ever I wanted. I then told him no. I won't be further spending my money here. Furious after I left thinking about how I was treated in the store, I thought to myself that surely her supervising team had no clue that she was responding and branding to consumers this way as if she doesn't understand the extent of business and consumer satisfaction so I need to report this incident. And since the experience, I have called each day and she has answered replying that there is no manager there. Today makes day three that she has been opening and closing the business without supervision, as she puts it. I'm a teacher for SCS and my family works for divisions of the city and know of this incident, so I wanted this incident resolved but we more than likely will be taking our business and...
Read moreZero stars! You absolutely canNOT accept the business of making cakes for customers' very important occasions if you can't deliver on orders. I am beyond disappointed. I ordered a cake for a birthday and arrived to pick it up at the designated time, but they did not have it. They hadn't made it. They offered me a bigger size of a different cake or a refund. I told them I could come back the next day so they could make the one I ordered and was told the owner wouldn't be in until Monday, apparently the only one who can do anything. Customers don't want a cake different from what they ordered (a special birthday request) nor a refund and no cake to take home. Neither of those are acceptable remediation. You must deliver the right order every time. I don't understand why businesses like this react with haphazard shrugs when they don't deliver for special orders. I will NEVER order from here again....
Read moreI've been a frequent customer of the Baskin-Robbins on Summer Ave. in Memphis for more than 40 years. Baskin-Robbins ice cream is excellent but since a new owner took over a couple of years ago, the service provided by most of the young women who work the counter is atrocious. Greatly lacking in courtesy and common friendliness. On recent visits I once had the server press a loose bit of ice cream into the scoop on a cone with her finger. On my most recent trip the server refused to give me 4 cents of the change owed because the were out of pennies. Would not give me the extra penny because it would make her register short. I now go 2 miles out of my way use the store at Poplar and Highland. The owner doesn't seem to care. Has no sense of the value of goodwill. I will not trade at the Summer...
