Boba Boba Life — Restaurant in Memphis

I see plenty of reviews about their great customer service, but it definitely wasn’t great for me.

We ordered a drink that was apparently a hot tea, even though the description on the website is just like all of the cold drinks. When I was confused, the young girl who was on her phone told me it was right. When I showed her the picture and how the picture is a cold drink, she could not have cared less, said it’s made hot, and went back to her phone which was clearly her priority. When I asked if it can be cold she grabbed the manager, who was VERY helpful, and he fixed it for us. It took about 30 seconds to fix. After he fixed it, I asked her if she could break a twenty and she turned around and said “this dude, oh my god” like I wasn’t two feet away from her. She said she couldn’t break a twenty even though I could see $20 in the register. I guess she didn’t want the cash tip I was going to give them for fixing the drink. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Easily the worst boba I've ever had. On top of waiting twenty minutes when there was no one else ahead of us, the boba I ordered (taro smoothie with boba pearls, made with oat milk) was awful. It only tasted of ice blended with oat milk. For almost $9 for a small, this was extremely disappointing. Won't be returning.

ETA: Since the business decided to respond to my review. The drink was almost $9 because y'all charge extra for oat milk AND for boba pearls (ironic considering the name is "Boba Boba Life"). Additionally, I don't appreciate my experience being downgraded; the drink had zero taste of taro. I don't know if it was made with syrup or powder but it certainly wasn't made with frozen or fresh taro pieces. This place is hands down a hidden gem in Memphis. The ramen here is the best I’ve ever had. It’s rich flavorful and cooked to perfection every time. My go-to drink is the strawberry matcha and it never misses.
