Used to come here all the time when they opened. A lot has changed here, and they haven’t been open long at all. My husband and I went on a weekend night and payed over 40 dollars for two people, and that is with one Pepsi. Another couple, who has two children 2 and under, and one child who is a bit older, payed way over 70 dollars to eat here. I do not remember it being so astronomically high to eat at this buffet before. That is aside from the terrible customer service. When we first started going here, the customer service was great. Very attentive, never waited long for a refill. Now, you just about have to beg for one. The new young girls they have working there are more interested in talking and goofing off than working. Other than the food that they make in front of you, the food is terrible now. It used to be pretty good. This place is astronomically high priced, for now terrible customer service, and terrible tasting/textured food. Very disappointing. We used to really enjoy going here. If you’re going to go, make sure to go at lunch time during the week, that’s the only time you are going to pay a...
Read moreIf you're really hungry, and indecisive, THIS is a GREAT option. There's sometimes a a short line, but it does move VERY QUICKLY! When you walk in you are practically at the register, where you'll pay for your parties buffets and drinks. You'll be seated after you pay. To the left of the entrance where you paid is a really cool seafood/ low crab boil/ bowl option. You enter the ingredients you'd like in your bowl, and a ticket is printed.. there's a small area dedicated to Mexican favorites like tacos and nachos.. then a small area of Chinese food like lo-mine, fried rice, egg rolls, etc, and then you come to the southern faves like fried chicken, really tasty/ tender BBQ ribs/ tips, fried catfish, meatloaf, Salisbury steak and all of the sides you can imagine. Lastly, the right side is dedicated to a wonderful Salad bar and soup selections.. then, several dessert options and soft- serve ice cream! The staff is very attentive and friendly, and it is a family-type atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Captain...
Read moreOut of all the buffet places in Memphis, TN this one had by far the best kid friendly environment. Not only did they have children running through the restaurant they also weren’t efficient enough in seating customers. Furthermore, customers would accumulate in the isles making for an unnecessary crowd. The waitress customer service was good which is why three stars instead of one was given. However, my experience at Captain King’s Seafood City was again disturbed by the fact that it took longer than 10 minutes to get my seafood broil which was guaranteed only a five minute wait. Additionally, buffets aren’t usually that clean to begin with; however, I pulled out my chair to find that there was still food in it. This highly disappointed me along with the fact that the outside of the chair was also not as clean as should be. If you want a three star renovated buffet then this is your restaurant, if not then I would seek a more cleaner, more controlled, and more attentive...
