Cook Out — Restaurant in Memphis

WOW!! Why haven't I stopped at this place before now?!?! Talk about missing out on a tasty burger...that's what I've been doing. I have driven by this place 100 times and thought, 'it looks kinda shady, I don't think I wanna eat there.' What a mistake that was! My son and I were in Memphis and both of us were hungry and he was in the mood for a burger and that sounded good to me. So, I decided to give this place a try. When I tell you I was pleasantly surprised, truly indeed!! My son and I each got combos and YUM YUM YUM, the food was tasty. Now see, we got regular size burgers, and they are just the right size when you get 2 sides and a big ol drink with it. The slaw was good, simply dressed, but sweet and tasty. The Cajun and chili cheese fries were good, as were the onion rings. The real stars were the burgers y'all. My son and I used to visit a place in downtown Memphis that has been highly favored for years for their fresh, hand-patted burgers; however, the past few times there, the burgers weren't the same, didn't taste like fresh ground meat and didn't look hand-patted. So, we were on the lookout for a replacement, and oh boy, Cookout delivered! We also got shakes to take home. I ordered a mocha shake, and they didn't have any fresh coffee. Instead of telling me 'oh sorry, we don't have any fresh coffee to make your shake', they made some fresh for my shake. Impressive! BTW, the sweet tea is just right, dang good Southern style! The atmosphere is basic, but clean. And the staff?? Talk about service with a smile 😃, yes please!! Everyone we encountered were friendly and courteous!! The district manager just happened to be there when we visited and he's got a good team. So, hats off Jacob and the rest of the crew at this location - Y'ALL are rock stars!...

This place has pretty good deals on their meals however if you go late at night the wait is long but the food is not fresh.... THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME @ NIGHT & IT WAS AWFUL! I will be returning this food as soon as I'm done working. The order was not right and the french fries were cold and over over-seasoned. One thing I really hate is stopping somewhere on my way to work to get something to eat having to wait for almost 10 minutes to get cold food!... What the heck was the point of the wait?! There were literally 5 to seven employees chatting talking laughing and having a grand time and no one could get the food to the window or did they just decide not to make the french fries fresh just over season them and make the burger wrong while at it... It was thoroughly disappointing and I know not to return to this location at all on my way to work. If anyone wants to eat here it's best that you go during lunch time.

UPDATE! I took my food back after having an awful experience with the late night crew... Miss Jasmine who was the acting supervisor during today's lunch rush was absolutely Pleasant and very very polite and kind. She understood my situation apologize and immediately got my food remade back out to me in good time. People like her make you really appreciate the job that they have. Working in fast-food is not easy it's even harder when you have to cover for other employees shortcomings... But Miss Jasmine did a very good job was very understanding and was very helpful I appreciate them we fixing my order and getting everything to me fresh hot and...

I have eaten here several times. The prices are extremely reasonable. For the price, the food is good. However, my experience tonight was RIDICULOUS! What self respecting establishment would have a “side” of onion rings and then give the customer FOUR onion rings? Two of which were small onion rings. So, apparently they have award winning onion rings that weigh in at approximately 0.40 per onion ring! There must be hidden gold and unicorn sparkles in that deep fryer! Ironically, Sonic sells a small order of onion rings for $2.29 and I can assure you Sonic isn’t greedy. You receive more than four onion rings from Sonic. Then I ordered a double chocolate milkshake and my only conclusion is that they have a two year old working the creamery tonight because there was chocolate melted milkshake dribble flowing all the way day my cup and the lid was not even shut on my milkshake. This made the presentation pictures laughable. My boyfriend’s chicken sandwich had bacon on it that was way undercooked as well. There is NO EXCUSE for this. It is L A Z Y!!!!

Save your money and sanity....just go on over to Sonic and enjoy...
