Really can't say enough about how much I enjoyed Smackers. We tried it out for the first time for dinner and ordered 2 burger combos very near closing time. Firstly, the restaurant was very clean and neat when I arrived. The cashier that took my order was incredibly courteous and friendly. Almost right after I ordered, the restaurant started getting very busy. The employees all seemed to jump right in to make sure every customer was served ASAP and didn't seem flustered at all by the sudden rush.
When my food was ready, the cashier asked me to check to make sure everything was right and looked good. I was excited with how good it looked and couldn't wait to get home to try it! Since I was by myself and had 2 drinks and a bag, the cashier, without even being asked, offered to help me and walked all the way to the door to hold it open for me as I exited. Although that was a very small courtesy, I was extremely impressed and thankful that he did that. It really is the small things that make the biggest impression, and this simple act of kindness really blew me away. That type of customer service is systemically lacking nearly everywhere you go, so it was very refreshing and appreciated to experience that. To me, that shows an extraordinary focus on training employees to make guests feel welcome and valued. It was very evident that the employees are bought into the critical aspect of the customer experience.
I could barely contain myself on the 5 minute drive home because the food smelled so good. As soon as I hit the door, I immediately started eating...and it was even more delicious than I thought it would be! Everything was hot, fresh, and satisfyingly filling. Both my wife and I really enjoyed the food, and we can't wait to go back! Smackers may not be the lowest cost option for burgers, but it's definitely not expensive by any stretch of the imagination and it's certainly worth every single penny.
I'd just like to say "thank you" to the Smackers team and especially the young man that demonstrated such excellent customer service. We can't wait to go back and probably would have already if we hadn't started dieting a few days later and are still on the diet (gotta shed a few pounds to get back into shape for the summer)! I hope the management/owners get a chance to read this review and recognize their employees' excellent work all around.
If I had to find a negative in the entire experience, it would be that I was unable to tip using a credit card. With customer service like that, I would have definitely liked to throw a couple of dollars to the crew. I don't typically carry cash, but I will remember to do so the next time we visit. The only other thing was that I thought they closed a little early compared to other restaurants (8pm on Saturday), but we'll just have to make sure we get there early to not miss out! Both of these things are minor inconveniences, but I figured I'd mention them as potential opportunities for future improvement.
GREAT JOB, SMACKERS CREW!! YOUR AMAZING FOOD AND EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS EARNED YOU SOME VERY BIG FANS IN OUR FAMILY! WE WILL BE BACK AND WE WILL BE...
Read moreHow is this place popular? We went based on the good reviews and the experience was anything but good. Well, I guess we had a few good laughs. And the people who work there were very nice.
We ordered a club sandwich and a cheeseburger combo with a salad. There was only one other person in the place when we arrived but we were told it would take 20 minutes to get our food and it took exactly 20 minutes. How on Earth does it take 20 minutes to make a burger and club?!
Here's where the fun begins. When the food came out, the salad was missing. I'll come back to this. The club was good but the burger was a joke. It had no flavor and the odd smell of the bun was greater than the taste of the whole burger. Luckily, they were kind enough to put an inedible onion skin in my burger. Yay.
We told the ladies there that we were missing the salad. After they talked about it for 5 minutes, they brought a plastic take-out container that had just enough salad to cover the bottom of it. The salad was comprised of mushy iceberg lettuce, one piece of red onion, and shredded cheese. I was never asked what kind dressing I wanted, and they gave me a packet of ranch.
The best part is the receipt. At the bottom, you will notice that they added a 2.9% charge for using a card. We were never made aware of this before or while ordering or paying.
Oh , I almost forgot about the very loud music that kept going out every few seconds and the trash can whose opening was too small to accept the plastic take-out container. Guys, this place is a mess. Do yourself a favor...
Read moreI would've liked to rate this restaurant a 10 however it it's always one bad apple to spoil the bunch. Perfect introduction by the first gentleman who shared the items which the restaurant is known for, I placed my order and he turned the screen around and asked if my order looked correct.yes I replied looking specifically to no pork on the sandwich because our family don't eat pork. Paid 70 dollars Patiently waited and when the sandwich arrived pork bacon all on top I asked the nice waitress to please remake the sandwich and not just take the bacon off she asked a person in authority and clearly they said No. Although the order was clear we said no pork. We were visiting from Nashville sad to say our dining experience was ruined. We got our money back from the sandwich and left. In a era of food allergies and personal choices when in the restaurant business it shouldn't be that hard to give a customer what they ask for or correct your wrong. Chic fil la...
